It used to be that you had film prints delivered on a Wednesday, then the projectionist had to splice it together, and then there was an employee screener to make sure it was spliced together, then there was the midnight (I used to work at a theater chain). Part of the ability to move things up is the digitizing. In general I agree that there are lots of little old traditions that used to bring people together in physical proximity that then got undermined by capitalism and I also miss those.

My stepfamily is polish and they made a pierogi casserole that I now make from scratch that rules out loud. Also I make a chocolate espresso pecan pie that rips.

My brain is going in the opposite direction and every time you mention "Porcelain" I think of the song by Moby. (I'm catching up on watching the livestream and pretending it's still live while I reduce a bunch of apple cider to make donuts later)
