Add enough water to cover the catfish and add a couple Tbsp of white vinegar. Let it soak 10 to 15 minutes rinse well and you don't have the muddy taste. I might not have right formula but it really works.

Thanks for another good video man. 👍 after a lot of years of sloshing around in the good old Potomac River above and below Harper's Ferry WVa. and catching a LOT of channel cats (some of them pretty doggone nice 😁), I finally finally! caught my 1st flathead! Actually I caught 3 in less than an hour! Believe me I was nothing but a 50 yr old kid for awhile! 😂 been hoping for one since I've learned they were becoming established in there. Have to thank you for sharing your experiences. 2 were pretty nice...30 inches plus then a smaller one. Had an awesome day, caught a good batch of nice channels to go with them. Hey Spence, for eaters you should try grilled cheese hot dogs .I rig up a double hook liter 2 ott side by side hooking through the middle and then pointing the hooks outward to the ends of each end of the hot dog and I use 1/2 hot dog for portions.I grill them so they stay on the hook better and if your hungry they make good snacks 😂.I’ve caught some channels over 15 pounds here in ohio on them and lost a monster flathead .

Picked up some punch bait, not my fav brand but decent stuff and a few new plastics to use. I tell ya what, nobody out here carries punch bait, or at least any decent brands really. I went fishing also today with my oldest grandson. He and his wife invited me to 4th of July celebration at her great aunts with her family. So I went. They have a pond that is supposed to be filled with giant catfish.. of course it was super hot in North West Alabama. I caught 1 blue gill. My oldest grandson got about 10 bass. If course my main focus was on catfish.

Tie a 7 inch leader size 1 hook to the main line. Then, get a tape measure, then measure 9 to 10 inches from where you tied the leader and hook. Put a 2 inch or 1.5 inch bobber. Then cut bluegill into chunks, put it on the hook, and use the head, too. You'll cover water and catch catfish. 😊

Take bluegill you catch cut bluegill into chunks. You can cover lots of water this way and catch catfish. 😊

Yeah, but now you've transferred that poison ivy oil from your pants legs to your hands! 😂 Man, that's some horrible stuff. There are no bad days fishing, only better ones. A tip on the cheese. Get it out first and let it warm up to room temp while everything else is being prepared and cooked, then it'll be quicker to throw on the fish, less time for the fish to cool off, and the cold cheese won't cool off the fish.
