Been slaving today so just got to this. I love how the Houdini rescued that rusty cylinder. That deadbolt sure uses a lot of spacer rings. Thx for the Video.

Hi Jason, thanks for taking the time to do this video. Yet again more learning something new. Pity they didn't stick with one keyway . Then there's the smart key ones. WOW. Definitely need to have a smart key pokey tool with you. On these locks. Thanks again for doing this video, definitely learning more about locks.

Thank you for covering the Old School Baldwin Estate tubular deadbolt. In the end, I Had to call in a locksmith, but your video covered all my questions. One thing not mentioned was in replacing the cylinder for a thick door, the Baldwin replacement cylinder came with a short tail piece for a thin door instead of the longer length for a thick door. This tail piece goes into the thumb latch. My locksmith used the old tail piece. He said he could've repaired the lock rather than me paying Baldwin for the replacement cylinder... which thought it had a lifetime warranty. Baldwin rep should've sent me what I needed, especially since I had to pay a hefty sum for the cylinder. Details...

Thanks for another great training video. The old Baldwins always seem to have that little flat washer by the tailpiece bent into a chewed up barely still there conical mess that I feel guilty shoving back in there on reassembly.

Just watched your 5 year old vid on repair of mortise lock. Very helpful. My deadbolt spring is broken. Where can I find a replacement spring? The lock came with Stone River Bronze entry set, which I believe was acquired by Rocky Mountain. The lock is very similar to Baldwin locks. Probably made by the same manufacturer that sells to OEM.

I will often offer to flip an upside-down keyway for free if I see one in the field. Thats a big pet peeve with me. Sorry I haven't been to live lately. Things are complicated at the moment.
