I saw one girl talk her family into posting her 15,000$ bond (bond set at 150K, had to pay 10% to the bond company) despite her 'frequent flyer' status and unashamed meth abuse. I got her lawyer's number though, because he seemed pretty good if he could get her out of as much as he seemed to have in the past, and it was a _really_ good move. He's a big part of the reason that despite my long-term drug abuse & the charges I got during that time, I'm not a felon. He regularly got my frightening & valid felony charges knocked down to misdemeanors. Good guy.

I was living in my truck at the time, which I drove to court then left behind when I was taken into custody right away (because duh that's what happens with contempt...right? 🙄 I know better now), and they then towed my truck/home. Fortunately I _do_ come from family whom I consider "a little monied"...meaning they can absorb an unexpected $400+ expense, albeit not easily, and they helped me bond out my home so I wouldn't have to sleep on any of their couches.
