Road Course '72 Split-Bumper Camaro Rear Axle Mockup - Carcass S4, E17

Our rear axle needs new mounting points for our shocks to bolt to our '72 Camaro, so we fabricate new brackets. We also mock-up our rear brake setup to our axle before giving it a fresh coat of paint.

I do believe you might need to gusset those shock mounts on the rear housing to prevent bending from side load forces. JMO.

Interesting. Previously I was told POR 15 had to be topcoated die to UV degradation if left as top coat. Did POR 15 change their formula or is this a different product line?

I have a question about my ford 221 small block. What can I to get power out of it.

Replace it with a 289 or 302. The 221 has a really small bore which limits piston and cylinder head choices.

You're right if they're going for a pro touring setup, they should've just installed an IRS

@SlickRick214 sure, that would be great, but a good coilover setup on this solid axle would be a huge improvement over leafs.

I dunno, what kind of dampeners are they running? fully adjustable? Have they addressed axle wrap with a 4 link?

@ShaunHensley even if the shock is adjustable, they have more weight, zero spring adjustment, and now the car can't be corner weighted. It seems very short-sighted. I haven't see any links yet either, but they have to do something
