The base thumb note is actually a constant pluck. Youre leaving out a pinched note with your thumb and ring finger, which is incorrect and not true to the picking used in the song.

Anyone here gave this a serious try? I've been at it on and off for 5 or 6 days ( that's half and hour ish an evening)i couldn't do this in a week, no way. I've been playing for 11 months so maybe this is a bit above my station at the moment.

This is actually wrong. The thumb needs to b picking on every 8th note. It’s constant all the way through. Watch how john frusciante plays it. Nobody can play this right because you need a fast picking thumb. Your video was a good try. But it’s not correct. The bottom E string is picked open at all time too. This song is way more difficult if done properly

Nobody has such a fast picking thumb as he does! Are you even serious dude? First off, you're the one who's wrong, and Mac - D Oien is right but you didn't even understand his answer. It's Flea playing the bass notes. You can learn the variation with additional bass note to make up for the lack of bass guitar, sure no problem and it's really not all that difficult lol, it's just simple Travis Picking at fast pace but don't go telling people they're wrong when you're wrong
