I think the problem with Kelsey’s wabi sabi papier maché pendant is that the papier maché is too thick. Otherwise, she nailed that shade!

Facts. It’s giving plump mushroom. Kelsey I love you OG subber and I love the lamp…. BUT it was a bit THICC. I think if it was fannned out instead of curved inward like a mushroom it would have made all the difference.

Maybe you're gonna hate me, but when they said a fail in the last 3 to 6 months, I immediately thought about Becky's planet lamp. 😬 I think that it had potential, but I really didn't like the endresult. I would try it again though, with a bigger circle around it!

PS - I can't over state how important it is to see that it's ok when projects don't turn out the way you originally plan! I think tenacity is one of the most important tools required for DIYing! Being able to pivot & employ a different strategy shows that tenacity & makes the process relatable!

I really want to see Rachel try that lamp again with pantyhose. That may end up being a fail but seems like it would conform better than the previous material and have less excess fabric, and look cool being more transparent, as the wire was super cool looking on the lamp.

On the paper mache lamp: once it has dried a bit, take a very lightly damp sponge and pat it down to smooth the paper fibers.

I want Becky redemption for the floor mat! The last one was a dollar store material, on the spot type thing and I think for that she did ... well? But with her skills with tiling and actually having quality materials, I think she would smash a second attempt!

I think she’s actually done a redemption for it before! I think she got wood to make a tray and then got the stones she originally wanted from the dollar store but it was years ago so I might be misremembering some details

I think it’s very brave to talk about feelings and failures so openly with your colleagues infront of the camera. For me this means that you must have a very safe team culture and that’s amazing!!! I’m glad y’all can laugh about it together ❤️ To be honest watching the very old videos was like watching a video of chicks, ducklings and puppies. It’s just cute and clumsy and Becky and Kelsey are so cute with their little baby faces that I just wanna adopt them no matter what a weird DIY idea they had 😍 I think the value of these old videos also lies between the straight up content. It’s a nice time travel and also a good reference for the progress the sorry girls have made. Big props to y’all. I also really love this new format of the gossipy chat on the floor. It feels very close and intimate and I think people on KZbin are not only following for the diy but also for the feeling of friendship that they developed over time. It’s inviting us to come and sit down with you and enjoy these conversations together.

I think the first video I EVER watched from The Sorry Girls was Kelsey's dream spa bathroom makeover about 3 years ago! Loved it so much! Okay just had an idea for redoing Rachel's light. I was thinking you had to sew each panel individually to the frame but how do you make that look neat? What if you use a starch mixture to make the fabric stiff so it doesn't actually rely on the frame to keep its shape!
