It's funny how all the items that they thought weren't typical of IKEA were super classic IKEA staple items back in the 70s-80s hehe. I swear everyone of my Swedish relatives had different versions of those in their homes back then.

As a swede I absolutely loved this video, and just seeing you guys try to pronounce the words was a great time. It's fun that you also decided to translate the words, but in true google translate fashion some words were translated a little wonky/ too literally; the main one being Ridspö which can be literally translated as riding stick, but it actually means horse whip- as in the whip you might use when horseback riding, not a stick that you ride. Also, Måla does translate to paint, but it's the action of painting, not paint itself; and Kärrknipprot is a plant in the orchid family, not swamp knotweed. Edit: something else that is good to know about Ikea is that a lot of things are named after locations in Sweden, so Bondskäret (for example) isn't a word or thing, it's a small town; same with Sotenäs, Nissafors, and Baggboda (and probably some other things in this video, I just can't remember them all)

It looks like IKEA. They have a whole line of floral fabrics like that and have forever. They usually have bright colorful stuff like that. i know everyone thinks of them as sterile white stuff but that's not really the whole picture. The textiles have always been insane prints.

I look at that little window on the ikea desk and wonder if I could waterproof it to make it a little terrarium to look at. I actually buy my granddaughters the refill of the roll of paper also for their table that has the holder on it. They also have awesome fabric Band-Aids, a large amount for only a few dollars, Walmart cannot touch the price of their Band-Aids. The cart, I am having back issues and I am needing surgery in a couple weeks I have to live downstairs in my home right now and in our downstairs closet I have put that cart in my closet to put my clothes on to keep them out of the way so I’ve made a makeshift bedroom closet downstairs using it and it’s been handy.

IKEA is also an abbreviation of the founders name (Ingvar Kamprad) I.K and the two later letters are from Elmtaryd (which is an older spelling of the town Älmtaryd where Ingvar grew up) and lastly Agunnaryd which is the parish where Älmtaryd is located. In short: IKEA is an abbreviation of Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd, the more you know 🌈

IKEA has taken such a horrific nose-dive quality wise, hardly any pieces are worth their cost anymore. They also have questionable sustainability practices, seeing as they produce furniture with old wood. So that's something to consider if the planet is important to you.

Hahaha those 'wreath mallows' remind me of the German 'Prilblumen' of the 70s. In those days a German dishwashing detergent with the name 'Pril' came with stickers on every bottle which showed such simple flowers in crazy colors. People would stick them everywhere in their homes, on tiles, on furniture on school bags etc. They were literally everywhere, it was absolutely hilarious! 🤪🤣Rapidly they became cult and are THE icon of the 70s in Germany and Austria.

I discovered this problem when I was working in Northern Wisconsin. Many people there have Nordic names, and I found out that sometimes an A just sounds like an O. My other favorite thing up there was names with no vowels until the end. Przybylski is an honest name, this time not Nordic, but Polish. You’d just have to listen to what people said and go with it.
