John 5 is a guitar GOD! I truly missed his talent at this year’s Freaks on Parade tour show in Mansfield, MA.

I enjoy the music of Rob Zombie, and even more, John Five. True story: I have seen Zombie twice. The first time was at Mayhem festival in Virginia in 2010. Zombie played after Korn, Lamb of God and Five Finger Death Punch. I enjoyed FFDP (had never even heard of them before) and I thought LoG was as good as I hoped for, and Korn were a little bit disappointing, they played my favorite song strangely slowly, like a dirge. No bands had any stand out drum solos or guitar solos or improv interludes or anything like that. I was a little bit disappointed that the bands stuck to standard versions of songs, with no really virtuoso moments. Then, Rob Zombie. The most memorable part of the set was John5 playing an awesome guitar solo in the middle. It was, like, seriously, at least ten minutes. My hair was blown back, and my socks flew off and straight into the washer. I walked on the grass at the very back of the amphitheater, and I realized, you don't need to pay extra for the close up tickets at the VBA. The view and the sound at the very back of the grass is more than adequate. It's a good amphitheater, and Zombie with John5 was a very good show. I went to Aftershock in 2022. Second time seeing Rob Zombie! Second time seeing John5! But it was not to be. Turned out that was Zombie's very first show without Five! Well, shoot! Still pretty good though.

Saw him at MayhemFest in ATL with 5 finger fruitpunch, Motorhead, Butcher Babies, Sons of Bodom, Anthrax, WhiteChapel, bunch o others.

That guitarist is hands down one of if not the best guitarist on the planet today. John 5 is a god.
