I remember reading through the cd booklets as a kid and getting turned on to so many bands and artists like KRS and The Descendents. Then, as I grew older I would hear things like Marley songs and Afrika Baambaata and hear the the things Bradley used. It still blows my mind when people knock on covers. Bradley was the master of tastefully biting style. I just hope the next Bradley doesn't choose to use hard drugs and die young.

I love when different artists' music can come together and can influence each other. It's all about those derivatives.

I'm not even mad there's no links, even though you keep telling me about them and even point them out. I just want to stop you from pointing at nothing and give you a hug. Keep up the good work sir. I second that emotion.

Every great artist is influenced by many different styles Brad had not even reached his full potential when he was cut short

A lot of people know he covers marley a lot. scarlet begonias is still genius cuz he brought in that funky drummer beat. He tied a Beatles and half pint song together and gave us what I got. I never knew he did that many covers but he's still as much of a lyrical genius as he is boss dj. I don't hear the ziggens influence in badfish. Don't push is original right? Garden grove. Live at e's, new song, new thrash, every other song u didn't mention... Sublime is still the shit.

OMG funktual! thank you so much for these videos! they have helped me see into and understand the love that bradley had for the music that much more. Am SO greatful to you for this!

For those who don't know what it means for KRS-One and Waiting for my Ruca to occupy the same space of 2 inch tape: On a 24 track recorder, there are 24 recording heads, so for example 12 of those tracks can be for the instruments/vocals on one song and the other 12 for the other song. To hear one song vs the other, just mute the 12 tracks of the song you don't want to hear on playback. This is what they had to do during the mastering process. Both songs are simple which makes sense why they are the two songs that coincide. They did this to save money since tape is expensive. There is no other reason to do this.

i love that when I was a kid I listened to Sublime a lot. Somehow I went down my own path and found a lot of bradley's sources on my own. I never stopped listening to sublime but I never researched the sources. It made me love sublime more and always mad respect to the pioneers. The specials, toots, Bob, the scientist, mikey dread and the list could go on and on. Forever love to Brad though

Great video man. I love your passion for the music. I don’t know if you covered it or not but in all you need Bradley says “no one can tell you that you got to be afraid.” From what I know about that lyric is that it is also said in Red Hot Chili Peppers Fight Like A Brave. I’m not sure if that’s what they got it from but it might be something cool to look into. Peace brother, spread the love 🤘

The 20th century ended the music industry. It went in waves but that tide is deceased. 1962-7, 1977-82, & 1992-til the 90s ended; all other great music that wasn't in those lil spans was here & there w/ nil longevity but the music industry has been destroyed & the apex of hip-hop from 86-96 has given way to the most useless mediocrity that continues to be absorbed by the mindless youth. If they don't own vinyl they don't own music- 33&45, that's it.

So on Greatest Hits lets go with Alton Ellis, Yellowman - Zung '83, Tenor Saw-Golden Hen, but there are other songs with that riff like '81 Michigan & Smiley - "Diseases" - thkzbin.info/www/bejne/oZWQfYmsgMuel6c. - there's a rock/punk band that also uses that riff (I want to say it is a minutemen song) but I'm loosing memory cells... also, for DJ's "All of the Dj's surely have taken a lesson" is a lyric from a Just Ice song & the words "the stone that the builder refuse, shall be the end cornerstone" lyrics Bob Marley used taken from the Bible - which was an actual technique in those times that the toughest rock to maneuver would make a good cornerstone to build on for stability, later using it to describe Paul as his Cornerstone for his Church. - just a couple guess' (Basically, the easiest Reggae albums to get back in the early 90's was Bob's Songs of Freedom booklet & The 4 disc "The Story of Jamaica disc set... Many of Brad's influences can be traced back to those two Disc Sets... kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHnXpZV3nsx5iLM
