Robbie and his team are so respectful but this time they correctly called out the people who made this ghastly decision. My opinion is the person who decided to do this in this ancient two wheel drive truck with bald tires is a real tool. Not only that, they disrespected the land by going off and leaving a terrible mess. How hard could it have been to throw everything in the back of the truck before they took off with their rescuers. I sure hope they are able to pay for this rescue.

Robby and Demri's Hillbilly has a LOT of sense plus a sense of right and wrong...the hillbilly who illegally took his family on a 50" trail, in a stock pickup truck, with two wheel drive only...DOESN'T HAVE EITHER. Good (difficult, challenging, hard-work, time-consuming, struggle) job rescuing the guy's truck (that wasn't worth 1/5 th of what your beat-up Can Am was worth before you broke it saving his truck) and helping out the Forest Service and the public so the trail could be USED by others guys! ;)

IKR? To me, and I drive off road all the time... that is a hike, horse, or dirt bike trail. I would *never* consider taking a full size vehicle there... Man... if they hadn't gotten stuck there, they'd have definitely gotten stopped at that wash out. You know, the park service puts those 50" barricades there for a _reason_ . They work there, and see the trail every few days. Trust signs and barriers when off-road, people. If you have to go around a demarcation obstacle (or over it), well... you are on your own. And you are stupid.

The way all that trash was left by the truck owner along with the burnt beer can in the fire pit speaks volumes as to what type of person was driving the truck and why they thought it would be a good idea to abuse that trail... Hi guys, (and gal), been a fan of your channel since the beginning. Matt at MORR got you involved with the Golden Nugget project. (Robby acted kind of like "are you kidding me?" when seeing what needed to be done. I think Matt said Robby was going to refuse the job and he needed a little prodding to get him to take it on.) I have a comment and a question about this video. Comment: When you came to the fork in the trail, you looked on OnXmaps to choose which way. You said the site showed you the left fork would take you all way to road. (Whoops! Later you had to turn around, go back and take the RIGHT fork instead. (Was OnXmaps wrong about the left fork?) Now the question: Why in the heck did you guys decide to drive onto the log drag the two wheel truck along the whole length of it instead of moving it out of the way in the first place??🤔
@rudetuque
@rudetuque 9 ай бұрын
not to speak for the crew... but the log totally reads like late in the day, should just slide under the truck wth the side up the bank, wish we had more food and water and let's get it done. Or it happened to roll awkward. As to On-X... likely the left fork was shorter and looked navigable (for the 50" designation), just saying that likely both worked bu the left fork had the appearance of benefits. As Berra said "when you come to a fork in the road, take it"

I had a 4X4 Dodge Ramcharger a long time ago that would go anywhere, and drag out stuck Chevys all day long. But there is no way in hell I would have taken it down that trail. Doing it in a 2 wheel drive with junk tires must have involved a bunch of booze.

FYI: Pinchot Here we say Pin-Shoh or Pin-cho as in Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Washington State. I know that in Utan (where I I lived for 23 years of my life (SLC/St. Geo.)) we often used pronunciations differently than the rest of the world. Truly enjoy your talent, work, and family life.

So many Pennsylvania connections. I live next to Mayfield, PA and Pinchot trail is named after Gifford Pinchot, a former governor of Pennsylvania and the father of the modern road system in the US. I’m done nerding out now, so I’ll keep watching the video.

"Keystone Kops Remote Recovery and Rescue Brigade" at work! 😅 I sort of think that truck owner was trying to "lose" it in the wilderness... then he could tell the wife, "We need to buy a new truck."

The pulley system that you rigged was actually a 3:1 with a change of direction, not a 4:1. Kudos for getting it done.

Well, you all are a testament to never giving up I am not sure how much this will cost this guy but I am confident not enough and who would have taken their family on this journey it doesn't speak very highly of his judgment. You all get an AAAAAA++++++++ nice video keep them coming from one hillbilly to another.

The Austin Powers clip was funny and appropriate! There may have been some inconceivable factors to force this truck here, but o doubt it. Most likely some young dudes that aren’t smart enough and considerate enough to keep their 2wd beater on a trail open to full-size trucks. When people drive around blockades placed the state or feds, they deserve a fine. They also deserve pay Robby and crew for their and effort.

Robby and Demri's Hillbilly has a LOT of sense plus a sense of right and wrong...the hillbilly who illegally took his family on a 50" trail, in a stock pickup truck, with two wheel drive only...DOESN'T HAVE EITHER. Good (difficult, challenging, hard-work, time-consuming, struggle) job rescuing the guy's truck (that wasn't worth 1/5 th of what your beat-up Can Am was worth before you broke it saving his truck) and helping out the Forest Service and the public so the trail could be USED by others guys! ;)

Good Job Robbie and team, I like the way you've rigged the winch, in the Army in recovery school we moved a 5 ton 6x6 by hand by using the mechanical advantage of multiple snatch blocks. I would have loved to see @CaseyLaDelle do this recovery too

There are versions that have their own engine, an don't use a chainsaw power head. Much more convenient and usable.
