Gibson and fender are phenominal, but i was hoping your 3rd choice is not ibanez? christ lol, replace that with PRS, or ESP, i would play a shector over ibanez, i will never play an ibanez, after you own a gibson les paul, i own a marshall jcm 2000 but i never use it, i love my fender 65 reissue tube amp, however, on my pedal board i love my HT dual distortion pedal by blackstar, so i have a british valve distortion pedal going into an american clean tone amp, sounds so good, it sounds like gold mixed with diamonds.

drdoom8793 yes...but the owner for Riff City was picking out the US rig...why would he pick out a guitar that he can't sell...If you notice the amp that he picked out is a vendor that is coming to Riff City. Basic business...I would do the same.

@overnightgrowth10 жыл бұрын
UK certainly is the place you want to go for amp choices and the US for guitars. I do love the USA rig though for its originality. I was expecting a fender/gibson guitar with an amp like fender or something. So in that category I feel that the US won slightly. I do love the classic sound of the marshall though. personally I would have the marshall amp and like a fender strat as a standard set up.
@MetalHeadProductions8 жыл бұрын
British amps defined hard rock and metal for decades, but, once metal in american in the 80's got very heavy there was this surge of great amps, guitars, pickups, and effects pouring out of america for this heavier sound. The Mesa Dual Rec and both the Peavey 5150 and 6505 have dominated modern metal and are continuing to do so. Seymour Duncan and EMG are metal standards. MXR, Boss, and the plethora of specialty companies like Pro Tone and of course the ibanez tube screamer, maybe the most used and iconic guitar pedal ever.
@svilendenchev99848 жыл бұрын

And PRS is way better for way less. Gibsons are as overrated as they come. They have nice necks, but Les Pauls are horribly uncomfortable to play in most positions (no tummy cut), the neck joint is crap (not that PRS is better, to be fair), they're heavy, and nowhere near worth the amount of money they cost.

@Jonw822210 жыл бұрын
I don't know if you have figured it out yet, but the country something is made pretty much makes 0 difference to the quality of the final product (assuming the same materials are used). It's all about the design and quality that went into it.. with people who know what they are doing, and the culture and philosophies (and technologies) that went into designing it. The build quality can differ but rarely. The materials and design make the biggest difference. A Seymour Duncan that's been assembled in Beijing or Tokyo will sound the same as a SD assembled in LA or New York (assuming the exact same materials used).
@Phyrepotato10 жыл бұрын
JonW Not really. While the materials do make a big difference, stuff that is made in Asia has less quality control than the same thing made in the US or UK, which means that it often isn't put together as well. Not to mention that if the quality control is worse, the processes used to turn raw materials into industrial stock is not as good either, which means that they likely aren't even using the same materials. I'm not saying that Asian guitars are bad, just that they aren't as good as American or British. The only real exception is Japanese guitars. Of course Korean is the next best. Plus that wasn't even his point. His point was that the US Rig was actually made in the US while the UK rig wasn't entirely made in the UK so it isn't really a UK rig.
