Not a big thing, but RDJ has had a “trailer encampment” since at least Civil War. Daniel Brühl and Anthony Mackie talked about it in a cast interview, and Tom Holland separately talked about being invited for lunch at “Robert’s little village” during filming. So…The Sympathizer directed by Park Chan Wook is actually an incredible show about Vietnam with RDJ playing multiple roles in this stylish comedic espionage thriller based on an acclaimed novel! I know none of you (including Grace) have watched it on HBO but it’s an amazing show with a great performance from Sandra Oh. Also Robert Downey Jr. got an Emmy nomination!

Downey doesn't even have to do a lot, compared to the others. His character is so covered in mask and power suit and cape, he doesn't even have to show up most days - he can do his part in his pj's in the voice-over booth while some minimum wage extra stomps around set in the Doom suit. The others have hours of makeup and prosthetics every morning, and 14 hour shifts in tight uncomfortable spandex and leather. It ain't fair!

As someone who like RDJ in Oppenheimer, I would be glad to see him getting other roles and really working on new stuff. The comic con reveal only brings me further doubt on Marvel and Disney, but not on RDJ himself. I think there's 2 big reasons why Shang-Chi 2 hasn't happened yet. 1. The first film was made during the period where Disney were still trying break into the Chinese box office, along with Mulan, and since then China have largely frozen Disney out so they've given up. 2. Simu Liu's stupid and shortsighted decision to blast the then CEO Bob Chapek on social media over an off-hand comment that wasn't even offensive probably ruffled some feathers at the company and turned them sour on him. Not saying Shang-Chi 2 won't happen but there's probably a reason Disney put the franchise and character on ice

Over in Thunderbolts, there could be more of a "new mask, new Taskmaster" situation going on. She's normally so quiet like Black Noir in The Boys, and the old suit already fit a man well enough that nobody will immediately notice when Val gets rid of Drekov's daughter and suddenly replaces the Lady Taskmaster with Tony Masters AKA the male Taskmaster lol. He's loyal to money; whereas, Drekov's Daughter may be too difficult to keep under Val's control without the mind control. Which could be something that Valentina secretly doesn't want happening, 'cause she can't risk allowing Antonia to start moving too quickly up the ladder within the Russian spy organization known as Leviathan (due to her blood ties to Drekov), because Val may be the one secretly in charge of Leviathan now following Drekov's death, or vying for control, as well as getting her promotion at the CIA.
