Dr Phil, I have been following Robert Roberson's case and praying for him. I had hoped Governor Greg Abbot would stop the execution, signed the petition, called the Governor's office and not one word from Governor Abbot!!! Not until the execution was stopped!!!! Then you appeared and my prayers were answered! Thank you Dr Phil for explaining the little girl's medical condition and explaining the junk science behind shaken baby syndrome! In 2023 my Grandson was at his 4 month well baby appointment when it was noticed that his head was large. This baby looked happy and healthy no reason to suspect child abuse. The following day he was scheduled for a head ultrasound and a hematoma was diagnosed. It was at this point that the pediatrician sent the parents to the emergency room and notified the emergency room that my grandson had a head injury. When in fact no injury was ever reported. This was the start of my families nightmare. The parents were accused of shaking their 4 month old child. So this diagnosis is still being made and doctors are not fully investigating any other cause of the Triad. Please continue to educate people of this unproven hypothesis! Thank you for helping Robert this man has been put through HELL!

@ No it was in Montana. And that is when I researched everything I could find on shaken baby syndrome and discovered the documentary “The Syndrome “ which I recommend all new parents to watch. My family is one of the lucky ones. We requested a 2nd opinion and also hired a medical expert. No charges were ever filed but my grandson was placed in foster care for over 130 days. It is the most devastating experience of my entire life. Custody was restored to the parents after the 2nd opinion and medical expert reported what the true diagnosis was. My grandson was born premature in respiratory distress and on oxygen for the first 24 hours of his life. Had his pediatrician been measuring his head it would have been discovered before he was 8 weeks old. He had been seen in her office sometimes 2 and 3 times a week and yet she never measured his head. I’m just so thankful things worked out for my family had it gone any longer my grandson would not have been so lucky. Thank you for your kind words!

@@angelag4968 my family is going through the similar case though our baby girl passed away in 2023 from Rsv and pneumonia but they are saying it is shaken baby syndrome… I will pray for you family… I understand how horrible this all can be it destroys families it is a weight that only the Lord can lift…. I live in East Texas and there is a lot that hasn't been treated fairly. This happened in Anderson county. I agree DA’s should be trying to find the truth, not the opposite and we have to many DA’s all they are after is getting a conviction, to get their selves voted back in, same with Sheriffs, the more convictions they get the better they look in small town Texas! Same with the grand juries, they only hear one side and do usually what the DA’s ask of them. I agree with Dr. Phil, these 3 make me proud to be a Texan, wished there were more people who could get the same, even the ones who were to afraid that felt like they better take a plea deal or they would be put through more of their dirty tricks! Leaving the courts with no trust left at all for law enforcement.

Even if found innocent, Robert sadly cannot receive the 20 years that he’s lost being convicted and put on death row! This makes me so angry! And very, very sad for Robert. God will show Justice in the end 🙏🏼

This young girl was dealing with the jury had absolutely no knowledge of the medicine the little girl that was on that is now on a black label list.. Question. Did they check the home for any mold or air poisoning? Water? What's near the home? Look deeper as to why they were so head strong about wanting him executed.

He might have shook the baby because she was not breathing. My oldest daughter would hold her breath and pass out if she didn't get her way. I had an officer try to wake her up because she wanted a goat. She was 3 at the time. Things can happen when a young child acts that way. I feel sorry for him. I feel he didn't do anything.😢

This makes me sick to my stomach. I know of a case where a 17 year old was arrested and convicted AND the death penalty was carried out against him. Then many years later a prisoner in custody admitted to actually being the one who did it, not the kid that was put to death for it. The crime happened in Amarillo, in the early 80's and it was an election year and the City was up in arms about someone running loose that would dare kill and sexually assault an elderly Nun, so they had to find someone to take the blame. They didn't have to look very far, because there was a kid who had a few minor scraps with the law as a minor and he actually lived across the street from the convent. They said they found his hand prints on some furniture in her bedroom (but he said that was because he helped them move furniture around inside the convent, when they asked for help). And his Mother has came forth many times with evidence that shows he didn't do this crime, since his death sentence was carried out trying to clear his name, and the City of Amarillo has threatened her. After all, what could she have done in early 1980, or in 2000, when you're not wealthy enough to have people in your corner. I lived and worked there and went to college there when all of this went down, the DA was corrupt, the medical examiner was found later to have not proceeded with his exam of the victim and the police backed up whomever was calling the shots. Phil, I know you're a busy Man, but you do have some great investigators on your team and I think if they looked into this case they'd come to the same conclusion. The kid was used as a scapegoat and we had a flawed system that would allow it. It's pretty obvious why Amarillo wouldn't want this to be brought to light, because if the Kids Mom is still living she could easily win quite a large lawsuit, and it would show how so many 'officials' be in it name or those wearing a badge, at the time conspired to find someone to blame the Nuns horrific murder on. But I'd be willing to bet you a paycheck that it wasn't the one they put to death for it. If only we could clear his name and give him some dignity after all these years. The Kids name is Johnny Frank Garrett, and he was executed on February 11, 1992. Rest in peace Sister Tadea Benz, and Johnny Frank Garrett. You are not forgotten and I hope you somehow get the justice you so deserved.

In the 90s our Family friend was the 1st in PA to be convicted using the "Junk Science" of shaken baby and convicted. It always bothered me to believe he did what the state said....20 yrs late it's proven its junk science. Absolutely tragic! He's forever a "murderer" did his sentence hard time too. 🙏🏻

This is so wrong in so many ways. Seems like the DA's are NOT up for the job not only in Texas but all over the US. A conviction is not what the DA should aim for but follow the evidence and set aside their own beliefs and opinions. If you need to rule out evidence from a case you probably DO NOT have a case. As a Dane I am horrified by the US justice system and the DA's in so many cases now. The jury system is a faliure when you do NOT show all the facts and evidence. Look at this case and Karen Read. Something is terrible wrong
