Robin Trower's albums in the 70's were his most prolific, his best by far IMO and they were all recorded with James Dewar, his bassist, as lead vocalist. This man's voice was unparalleled!

One of his often ignored albums is his 1994 "20th Century Blues", with different personnel. His 1976 live album has some great performances. Then there is his collaboration with Jack Bruce of Cream on a couple of occasions. Then there were later albums where he also sang. At 78 he is still playing and has an upcoming release featuring a female singer.

I was 16 years old when this album came out. I am and always was a huge music fan. Almost all of the money I made back in high school, while I was working at a grocery store, was used to buy music. I had several hundred albums. This album right here is one of only maybe 4 or 5 albums out of maybe the 600 to 700 albums I’ve owned, that I can say is perfect from start to finish. Every song is a beautiful piece of music and art. It is one of thee best albums of my lifetime. I’ve gone through several copies I played it so much. The beautiful thing about it is it never gets old. I keep finding more things to appreciate in the music as time goes by. It is a masterpiece!👑🏆

I've been listening to this album since it first came out. The (very) local band I was in at the time covered this and Too Rolling Stoned, with yours truly doing his best imitation of a real drummer. Both of these songs were really fun to play, but especially Day of the Eagle. I really liked playing the outro. On the other hand, I saw Robin and band play this when this album was still new, and they showed us how it's done by the masters...a really great band. I saw Robin again decades later...and he was maybe even better. You guys really seem to get how good this whole band was.

Robbin Trower was a founding member of the highly revered band "Procol Harum: Repent Walpurgis, with The Halle' Symphony Orchestra, Manchester,17 June 2001 (REM)" he achieved success with the band "Procol Harum" from 1967-1971, and then again as the bandleader of his own power trio known as The Robbin Trio or The Robbin Tower Band. This band even though, this band was considered psychedelic rock and proto-progressive rock they had heavy elements of blues and R&B infused all throughout their work. Really enjoyed listening to this one with you fellas, thanks so much for sharing

Totally agree with every word you guys said as I feel exactly the same playing and listening to the virtuosity of Robin Trower's playing whom I never knew a great deal about except that he isn't singing the soulful blues rock lead vocals but rather his bassist/leas singer/co-producer, James Dewar is singing who helped Robin Trower write and co-priduce the song; You guys are right, The whole album is a Treat and filled with Classic Rock Guitar Gems. Robin had clear Jimi Hendrix (who also played a very similar Fender Stratocaster Guitar) influences as did other virtuosos like Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin and Stevie Ray Vaughan not just evident from the guitar soloing but from the faster dynamic front end of the song which is very similar to 'Machine Gun' by Jimi Hendrix regarding the choppy fast accents and the back end of the song is again very much played in a Jimi Hendrix spirit (very similar to 'Freedom' and also 'Dolly Dagger' both songs by Jimi Hendrix) where Hendrix invented many riffs that we hear played in a similar style from other virtuosos like Stevie Ray Vaughan and even Jimi Page (who went father in his own playing and writing directions inluding many famous acoustic guitar inventions) as mentioned and all three of these virtuoso guitarists (along with many more) basically took the endless ideas of what Jimi Hendrix did on the guitar and even his musical song directions and they just went their 'own way' with all those ideas powered by inspiration. This is probably considered by many as Robin Trower's greatest song along with 'Too Rolling Stoned' and 'Bridge of Sighs.' Great Reaction Video on the song guys and great commentary!

I really liked his 1st album just as much, Twice Removed From Yesterday. Bunch of great tracks on it, I Can't Wait Much Longer, Daydream, Rock Me Baby, Hannah. Man of the World is worth it just for James Dewar's vocals, great singing. Trower's got a lot great tracks littered thru his albums: Somebody Calling, For Earth Below, Caledonia,

Another one of my favorite albums. You really need it on vinyl, and to listen to it from start to finish. I haven’t listened to this in many years, but I seem to remember that great fade-out moved into a great fade-in on the next track. I really appreciate your commentary that generally goes straight to the point, recognizing the key strengths in the music. The groove they lay down at the opening of this song just slams you into groove, but like you said, the vocal ties it all together, somehow shifting the groove up a couple of notches. Repeat listening exposes some nuance that you may not catch on the first listen. Thanks for playing it.

One of those times was during when the song Daydream was performed by Robin Trower at the Granada Theatre in Chicago. Hey fellas. This is one of my favorite Robin Trower songs! Still have this album on vinyl as well as his next album "For Earth Below". Enjoyed you reaction as always. Peace.

Robin Tower is dope and he was at his very best with James Dewar on vocals, any of their albums together are worth listening to. He also did some albums with Jack Bruce (band = Cream) and Bill Lordan on drums, they called themselves BLT and kicked butt. Try from Robin's debut album Twice Removed from Yesterday, that album is up their with Bridge of Sighs as great guitar vibes, do Sinners Song for some raging Trower leads, he really lets loose on that deep track. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎶
