When RoboCop (Joel Kinnaman) wakes up, he begins to panic at the sight of his new form.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
A powerful multinational conglomerate attempts to bring robotic law enforcement to the United States by transforming a critically injured police officer into a cyborg cop in this remake of the subversive 1987 sci-fi classic. The year is 2028. For a long time, cutting-edge robotics company OmniCorp has been supplying the U.S. military with drones for use overseas, though their repeated attempts to bring the technology stateside has met with fierce resistance. When devoted family man and upstanding Detroit policeman Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) is grievously wounded in the line of duty, OmniCorp CEO Raymond Sellars (Michael Keaton) attempts to innovate by recruiting top scientist Dennett Norton (Gary Oldman) to transform Murphy into a prototype half-man/half-robot crime-fighter. When initial tests fail to provide the results OmniCorp had hoped for, Norton reprograms Robocop to operate strictly on software rather than human emotion. That lady doctor is actually Aimee Garcia, and I felt she looked familiar as she plays a character from a show I’m watching called “Lucifer.” While in this movie her character is much more serious, both characters didn’t have a filter of what to say which lead to consequences. I just found it funny both characters she plays have this trait of “Not watching their mouth at times”

They did that in the first version as well. Dr. Morton had an argument with Murphy's partner. He told her stop using his name because he's no longer "human, just a product." It chilled my blood how he said that because it begs the question: if you're half human, half machine, can your creator take your rights away by saying you're just a product of OCP? (OCP is Omni Consumer Products, Dr. Morton's company).

We are all slaves to companies for resources for living. Suicide is illegal cause the government and companies can't make money off a dead dead person now can they? Living on this planet is slavery. I re-watched this movie recently. I could never appreciate it when I first saw it, but it's honestly quite good. A little dramatic for my taste, but I guess that fits the taste of current audiences. The VFX are incredibly well done and I love how, in a way, they stick true to the original 80s style of things. It's cheesy, without being cheesy. If that makes sense. It feels like a current-gen cheesy 80s scifi action movie!

I love the design it’s so sick, and the mechanical sounds are really cool, I wish if they ever do a sequel to this they give it an “R” rating and fix the story, this could’ve been so much better than what we got. It’s not Robocop 2 or 3(thank god), but it feels like a lot of it’s potential was wasted. Especially when you consider that Robocop was originally going to be connected to Terminator. Gotta love the subtexts shown in these scenes- -It shows that OCP uses US Tax payers money to build and develop (the lab) its robots in another country -It shows the scale of the robot production, the films opening scene is clearly just a fraction of the amount used in that country and probably others -It shows him running and jumping with greater speed and agility than a Human, Robocop from the original films too -OCP databases clearly have Murphy recorded as "property" not "Employee"

I don’t understand why people hate this movie. I saw yesterday the remake and the original. And a loved both. I like the new interpretation of the remake, the new character traits of Alex, the whole additions to his transformation arc… my only criticism would be that the movie should’ve been bit longer. This reincarnation definitely deserves a sequel. But because of the oversight hate, this unluckily will never happen. I’m sure the sequel would have been amazing.

The silver suit was a nice callback but it was also able to give form to Robocop’s design. Even if you couldn’t see all the fine details, you could get a broad idea of what each part was. The black suit makes things unidentifiable and gives you the impression that it is more complicated in design than it really is. Makes you not even bother observing the cool new design of Robocop, which was one of the big draws of this remake.

I think it was smart for the doctor that let the detective run with wherever he wants to go at the moment. I think he wanted the detective to know he still has control over his body even if his body is machine that can shutdown or override by someone anytime. If they stopped him against his will, I think he would never feel that he controls his body anymore.
