One glaring oversight - as good as Barry White’s songs are, I never hear you mention the phenomenal orchestration behind him. Those are not studio musicians. That’s Barry White’s Love Unlimited Orchestra that he recorded with and toured with. During the years when Barry White was enjoying his greatest chart success, his Love Unlimited Orchestra had an instrumental hit of their own. It was so big, that for decades, it continued being used as bumper music that TV networks would play to go from sporting events to commercial breaks. You’ve probably heard it a million times and just didn’t know what it was. But check it out. It’s called, “Love’s Theme” and it’s by the Love Unlimited Orchestra. While Barry White’s voice won’t be heard anywhere on it, you will feel his presence throughout the entire song. It would make an exceptional reaction video. By the way, there’s also a phenomenal version of this song (First, Last, Everything) on KZbin that’s a duet with Barry White and Luciano Pavarotti. Highly recommended.
@The_Dudester3 ай бұрын
In the early 1970's, when Angel Fire New Mexico started being a big thing, Love’s Theme was used as background music while skiing and home ownership was being talked about in TV commercials. I cant hear the song without visualizing a skier, heading downslope, a rooster tail spray of snow behind them.

Though they're enthusiastic, very likeable and hugely watchable, they're remarkably incurious about what they listen to. I wonder if they would actually 'get' Love's Theme.
@ProdigyBowlersTour3 ай бұрын
@@markharris1125 -- I completely agree with you. But Jay and Amber are not unique among reaction channel people when it comes to a lack of curiosity. I think the reason might be that they're just so ignorant about the music and the eras that the music comes from that they don't know what questions to ask. The same could be said of you or me if the subject were something else about which we knew very little. What I don't understand about Jay and Amber is how totally unresponsive they are. I've posted hundreds of comments and sent dozens of emails to them, and never once have I received even so little as an emoji sent in response. I, too, am a KZbin content creator and influencer, and one of the first things you learn in doing that sort of work is to engage with your viewers. They don't, and I must admit, I do find that off-putting. But I cut them some slack for their lack of curiosity about music. They're young and likely just don't know enough about the times we lived through in growing up with this music to even have a clue as to what they don't know. But they've learned a lot more about the music and the artists than most reaction channel people I've seen. And like you said, at least they're likable and watchable.
@markharris11253 ай бұрын
@@ProdigyBowlersTour Just had a look at your channel - I should have guessed the content from your name! Not my scene, I'm afraid. But you have many many more subscribers than me, so best of luck for future success. Yes, I kind of gave up making any comments. Sometimes someone I recommended two years ago will come up, but it's just coincidence I'm sure. There are ways they could learn more. Fine, don't research before listening if you think it will spoil the reaction, but research afterwards. What chart position did this song get to in the US, the UK, round the world? Who wrote it? Who produced it, played on it? By doing this, even from a position of ignorance, I think I would learn the questions to ask. I think I would start to see the bigger picture. I don't know if you've watched SalvoG, but all this music is new to him as well, and he does all the research before, after and sometimes during the songs. It's what I would do. But as you say, Jay and Amber are so damn cute. If they never give you an emoji, I shall: 🎳
@bonepicker13 ай бұрын
@@ProdigyBowlersTourEarlier, they responded fairly often, but I suspect the haters turned them off. Plus, the size of their subscribers and content got larger, and it is time consuming to try and respond. They are raising 3 children too which occupies their time. Most of the large content creators I subscribe to don't respond often anymore either. Doesn't bother me though.

Believe it or not, this song started out as a country song, written in the 50's! The writer, Peter Radcliffe, was a friend of Barry's and brought to him, telling him, "maybe you can do something with it". He made it a disco anthem.
@freethinker19133 ай бұрын
Pretty easy to believe, really. You’d be shocked how many times country and R&B artists have covered each others’ songs. Kenny Rogers biggest hit, Lady, was written by Lionel Richie after his Commodores band mates rejected it. Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You was a cover of a Dolly Parton hit (ironically both performed the song for movie soundtracks, Dolly for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Whitney for The Bodyguard). The fact is both styles rely on the emotion of everyday life and don’t like to get too complicated lyrically, so the songs of one genre can easily be arranged into the style of the other.

Peter Radcliffe, A friend of Barry's, originally wrote the track as a country song with the title "You're My First, You're My Last, My In-Between", which went unrecorded for 21 years. White recorded it as a disco song, retaining most of the musical structure while rewriting the lyrics.. When he played back the finished demo, Peter actually cried tears of happiness.

I was waiting for you guys to react to this one... This is my favorite Barry White song... I was in the military from 1973-1976 and I was stationed at Camp Geiger , N.C.... Jacksonville was 4 miles away and it was a much different town then than it is now... When we played the jukebox in a bar, you better be playing Barry White in there somewhere... You couldn't go in a place without hearing a Barry White song... I started working at a hospital in 1993 and a gentleman that worked there as a registered nurse would take 6 months off during the year And travel with Barry White as his private nurse... I thought they were so cool... I asked him to get me a autographed picture of him and he said he would, but unfortunately Barry White passed away ...He had high blood pressure problems... I was saddened to hear of his passing... I just thought back to those days when I was in the military and how much his songs meant to us all... Thank you for doing this reaction... It brought back some wonderful memories...Keep Being Awesome !!!
