I graduated from high school in 1987. My senior class wrote in this song as our class song. Literally everyone I knew voted for it. Yet strangely enough, our class song was "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King, which had hit the charts again that year thanks to the movie of the same name. We were all convinced the teachers and principal didn't want "Never Say Goodbye" to be our class song because of the lyrics, so they fudged the voting. And frankly, I still believe that.

My absolute favorite Bon Jovi song. 🎶😍🎶 Bon Jovi has some of the best power ballads, but they have a lot of range with their music. "Sleep When I'm Dead" is a fun song, "Lay Your Hands On Me" just rocks! They have deeper love songs like "Bed of Roses", "I Want You" and "Living in Sin"...and then songs like "This Ain't a Love Song". I personally love their slower songs that tell a story like "Dry County" and "Dying Ain't Much of a Living". You can also "Keep the Faith" or take a trip down "Tokyo Road". They have a ridiculous amount of songs and albums to go through and a song for just about every situation.

This song has extremely deep connection with my old friends growing up in a military family. We used to play this song at our school dances and I even slow danced to it during one of my proms, lol. it was a staple amongst my friends because we were constantly moving and saying good bye to everyone we knew. Of course on occasion one or two of us would run in another friend here or there if we ended at the same base or nearby base later down the road, but more often than not the good byes were final,so instead of saying good bye,we promised to never say good bye and stay friends for life....and then play this song,Lol. It was a song to make us feel like our connections didn't have to end just because we couldn't see each other anymore guess... Thanks for the memory of old friends.🎶❤✌
