Oh man, you guys have barely touched their pre Saturday Night Fever catalog. Their disco fame was their comeback. They were big in the 1960s. You've got to check out "Holiday", "New York Mining Disaster 1941" (People thought it was the Beatles), "I Started A Joke", "Lonely Days and Lonely Nights", "Spicks and Specks", "Words" (You will LOVE this one), "Run to Me", and my favorite Bee Gees song of all time "I've Just Gotta Get a Message to You". If you want to see them young you have to go all the way back to their career in Australia and check out "The Battle of the Blue and Grey". It's funny because you'll see Barry towering over his two brothers when they were kids. Dude I do love all their pre disco stuff way better than anything after. This particular song you're listening to I wouldn't even put in the top ten of their early songs. You've got some really awesome songs ahead of you.

During this time, some people got The Bee Gees confused with The Beatles. Some more songs from their early era include "I've Gotta Get a Message to You," "Words," "To Love Somebody," "My World," and "Run to Me." "Too Much Heaven" is from their disco era; not every song they released during that time was a disco song and that one was a ballad. Don't forget to check out their post-disco era songs as well. Some amazing songs there like "E.S.P," "Ordinary Lives," "House of Shame," "Tokyo Nights," "Still Waters," "Irrestible Force," "I Surrender," "Kiss of Life," "Paying the Price of Love," and many more!

I think it's fair to say that the majority of folks who grew up to the Bee Gees '60s sound, found it far preferable to their disco era. That being said, this song is new to me, and I'm confident it was never a hit. That early catalog, though, is a rabbit hole you really must visit. "To Love Somebody," "I Started a Joke" and "Words" are three of my personal 60s faves. 😊

1. I did live thru the disco era. 2. I love the Bee Gees music before disco. "Disco Bee Gees" never held a candle to their previous song catalogue for me. 3. Since we are being truthful today, I was not a huge disco fan, I stayed with late 60s and early 70s rock & folk during that time. I did go to clubs with friends & dance but not the music I would listen to daily. I also admit I appreciated disco more, the older I became. There are lots of great suggestions for the Bee Gees listed in the comments today. "Lonely Days", one of their best, was thought to be a Beatles song by many when it came out. A definite must. "I Started a Joke" still brings tears to me after all these years. Robin's vocals are beautiful and touch my heart every time. Again, as many comments say it is a must listen to. "Words" was my favorite always. But Barry did an album of duets with County stars a few years ago. He duets with Miss Dolly Parton on this song. The duet is now my favorite version of "Words". Everyday is a good day to listen to The Brothers Gibb. Thanks for the reaction.💜

Jay & Amber, this is what I found out about this song: "Tomorrow Tomorrow" is a song by the Bee Gees written by Barry and Maurice Gibb in 1969. The song was originally intended to be recorded by Joe Cocker.[2] It was the first Bee Gees single released after Robin Gibb had quit the group which was now down to a trio featuring Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, and drummer Colin Petersen. Also, Jay, you had mentioned that one part where Barry's voice was "deeper". It's because he hadn't used falsetto yet. His signature falsetto didn't come about until 1975 with him using it for the first time in the song "Nights on Broadway".

The Bee Gees had so many different eras because they lasted so long from the late 50’s to 2000s! Have you done YOU WIN AGAIN? That was late 80’s and a number 1 hit in Europe. The USA still had that stupid disco backlash against them, but Europe opened their arms back open. And…they released their last CD in 2001. Two songs really stand out for me on that CD are the title track “This is Where I Came In” with Robin leading; and “Wedding Day”, a song they wrote for their wives, which Barry & Robin leads. The live versions of these songs are excellent.

I Started a Joke, To Love Somebody & Words great early Bee Gee’s, as always written by them. They started in the early 60’s as folk rock, then had a lot of success in R&B (Nights on Broadway, Jive Talking, etc) before making any disco songs. There is a difference between danceable R&B and disco, both existed in the early to mid 70’s then disco seemed to take over around ‘76 or ‘77.

You all didn't even notice Robin was missing?? You still have so much to learn about them. Amber, you are so right about early Bee Gees!!!

Although it is good to see footage of them in this era, Robin had left the group for a bit at this time. Some suggestions for 60s Bee Gees are I've Gotta Get A Message To You, I Started A Joke, To Love Somebody and New York Mining Disaster 1941. For pre-disco 70s Bee Gees check out Lonely Days, Run To Me and Don't Wanna Live Inside Myself. I think all of those suggestions are better songs than Tomorrow Tomorrow.
