It’s racial because Ted Nolan is native. Ted broke the mold of the good ole boys club of coaches in the NHL. They couldn’t let a far superior coach of color have a job but poor coaches like Michel Terrien, Alan Vigneault, Peter DeBoer, Todd McLellan, Ron Wilson, Paul Maurice still get jobs

Few things on the Sieloff/MacArthur incident: It was a PRESEASON practice which makes it even worse. MacArthur did play again that season (4 games) and in the playoffs. His return help spark the Sens to reach the CF scoring 3 goals and 4 assists. Unfortunately he failed his preseason medical the next year and place on LTIR for the rest of his contract. As much he and the fans wanted him to make a return, this was probably the best course of action considering his lengthy history with concussions. Sieloff might have been 'blacklisted' by the sens, but IMO he just wasn't good enough to make the roster. Karlsson, Phaneuf, Ceci, Borowiecki, Oduya, Claesson, Wideman & a young Chabot were all ahead of him in the depth charts. When he was traded to the Ducks, Lindholm, Montour, Fowler, Manson, Pettersson, Larsson, Megna, Welinski, Holzer, among others were above him in the depth chart.

Then spent time in the ECHL/AHL before making the call up to Dallas Stars. After that he went to Winnipeg's farm team and was called up getting his first few goals. We all laugh at the bad salaries and rights pro hockey players used to have half a century ago. Meanwhile female Pro athletes struggle with it to this day. They can be multiple Olympic champions but forced to have a "normal" job on the side just to afford to live.

Manning didn't injure McDavid. McDavid fell on his own and Manning fell into him. Fact. There's a reason that there was no penalty or suspension or even a fine. Because McDavid toe picked trying to score instead of trying to stop (which I understand). Still, it's not Manning's job to make sure McDavid doesn't fall.

You're wrong.. you see him holding onto McDavids jersey? As soon as he grabbed it.. he tripped.. so YES.. he injured him. Open your eyes before making an absurd comment such as this.

@@mathelogical2563 I watched the game and I've seen it in slow motion more times than I can count. Even the Oilers' feed showed nothing at all. He wasn't holding his jersey. He had a hand on his jersey..... how does that make one fall forward? LOL. Like I said, there's a reason there was nothing called during or after the game. You don't think the NHL took a really long look at that play? It's there new poster boy injuring himself. If it was anything but that, they would've thrown the book at Manning. Or at least fined him. But no.... because.......... there was nothing there. The fact that you think someone touching a jersey (he wasn't holding it) could make him fall forward, just shows how little you know about both hockey, and physics. It just goes to show you that people see what they want to see. No matter how blatant the video is, homers will be homers. And for the record, I like McDavid more than Manning. But facts are facts. Oh, and there's a reason most people (including the NHL) agrees with me. Because it's factual. Facts don't care about your feelings, homer.

@@kyleayres6255 Yeh it's a contact sport.. and my comment was to say his contact did injure him.. if he didn't tug on his jersey.. he wouldn't have fallen like he did and inevitably get injured.. right.? @@mathelogical2563 Says the guy that obviously has never played hockey, OR you're so bad at skating that you think getting your jerseys touched will knock you over. I'm no NHL player. I've been coached by NHL coaches and have played with ex-pros and pro roller players. However, I'm still nothing compared to these guys, and I can say with 100% certainty, that what Manning did, wouldn't have knocked me over. Fact. I know it beyond any doubt. If you played, you would be able to understand the body positioning and see McDavid falling no matter what. A hand on the hip is perfect defense. He didn't push off. He didn't hit him. He just had his hand there. I mean, honestly, do you really believe that McDavid wouldn't have gone flying into the boards on his own? If the answer is no, that you don't understand physics at all. I mean, just look at him. He's turning himself that way to shoot.... then starts to fall, then Manning slams because of McDavid falling. Fact. There's no other way to honestly look at it. You can say what you will but everyone knows that truth. Even you. You just won't admit it.

Sieloff should of been in the NHL longer. His hit on MacArthur wasn't dirty but probably wasn't necessary. Ryan didn't lay beating on him either wasn't much of a fight. The stone thing wasn't anything he stood him up and got slashed first most physical players would be pissed about that. If that's why the sens never had him up its pretty weak. And they haven't been good in awhile

It’s not about being a dirty hit though, it’s about the fact that he lined up his own teammate and crushed him in a scenario where you’re prepping for the season with light contact, not to mention he was already dealing with career ending concussion symptoms. Which is why he got another chance, but him trying to fight Stone the next season was the icing on the cake on why the guy is a massive bone head

Allegedly Manning told McDavid he was trying to hurt him in that incident. I don’t remember anyone saying Manning did it on purpose until Manning himself said he did to McDavid while battling during a subsequent game. In fact I’m pretty sure that McDavid referred to it as a hockey play that turned out badly until Manning revealed his intent.

The lesson here folks is: No matter how good you think you are or actually are; If you're an arsehole then you're paving your own way out of success. You can always teach someone to be skilled. You can't unteach being an ass. Ted Nolan's story is simply about entitled bigoted business owners. It's popular in America today. Look at the Chicago Blackhawks issues. Look at Vince McMahon in WWE. Look at Elon Musk. This is not such a mystery as it's been culminating for decades into clear cut extravagant eccentrics and instead of being guided morally, are misguided for personal profits because ' It doesn't affect me any but I can exploit it without even being involved in it.' That is why is is great but also a shame that, anytime a "so-called minority' makes it to the NHL, its shrouded with fanfare when realistically, it should be applauded equally to every single other person who makes it to the NHL. Equally. However that is not where we exist and there are still hateful evil people exploiting many many others for the sake of making an extra dime they will never spend.
