Hello just subbed here🙌love this so much! I have 25 pounds of raw sodalite that I want to tumble and I can’t wait so I am delighted that you posted this about lapis. 🧿💙🤍I do own some lapis pieces but the chunks of sodalite have always reason dated with me for some reason. I have a lapis pendant (cheap metal from soul charms lol), a tiny tiny lapis tumble, and a stunning maybe 3”-4” tower that I love! The sodalite that I own is superb and I wish we could meet and collaborate. I’m looking for a good wire wrapper ASAP! To wrap me a raw/tumbled piece of sodalite! : ) I own a stone tumbler and have all the grit and ceramic pellets for it but I have not started this batch yet. My last batch I had “trial & errors” lol to say the least. It was a *mixed* bag of “*raw*” & because of the Mohs scale....I don’t think I need to say more. Lol my sodalite chunk and opal totally dissolved lol and my other stones either broke like my piece of agate, or they came out pure trash like my one piece of hematite. I own one polished piece of hematite and a bunch of raw chunks from Brazil. Also have some raw rose quartz from Brazil and all of this sodalite. I wish my tumble was done already so I can see my babes like this! You know another way to give them that shiny look without mineral oil after grit #4? I don’t own mineral oil or haven’t purchased it yet but just curious if anything else would work or a certain type of grit other than the standard 1-4 grits? Currently I use “Polly Plastics” grits and pellets and love it! I’ve also used “Dan & Darci” grit packets #1-4....Polly is DEF better than DD grit powders. Sorry for the lengthy comment. I just love your results. I guess I have nobody to talk to about this stuff so I go off on posts like this lol. Sending all of the loving and healing vibes to you and yours 🥰✨🙌🧿🧿🧿🧿🧿🧿💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍. Ps. Slurry never ever smells good lol ickyyyy🤢

Thank you so much for your videos. I felt a lot of trepidation when thinking about polishing "soft" stones. Im looking forward to a batch of sodalite and another of lapis. Again, thank you.

I am really enjoying watching these videos. I would like to know more about what percentage of ceramic media you put in a rotating Tumbler. I'd like to see a video that shows you charging the tumbler while you describe the process. I've been watching the lapis tumbling video, but still have questions in the area of charging. I've not been able to get a great polish. I'd also like to know the exact specs for coarse, medium and fine silicon carbide. I assume that coarse is 60/90, yes? What are the others? Many thanks.

Good material for sure. I was happy with a batch of Lapis I did last year, but think I can improve the shine a bit with the dry polish. Thanks for the tips. Have your weekly updates now come to an end?
@ReikiGemWellness4 жыл бұрын
One thing I didn't mention in the video is that the dry polish did tend to settle into the crevices in the stones and I had to take a toothbrush to them to clean that all out even after a burnish cycle. About the weekly video - it is currently on hiatus and I'm still trying to decide about it. I'm still filming the tumbling to make these Start to Finish videos, but there is not the time pressure to edit and upload on time like there is the weekly videos. I'm going to be starting homeschooling two kids full-time next week and I need to have more flexibility. So the answer to the original questions is..... I'm not sure. I have to see how much flexibility I have around the homeschooling. 😬

Thanks for the response. I completely understand the time restrictions. You need a good work/life balance.

Thanks for the tips. The softness of lapis has been a hurdle for me. I have had a few pieces literally dissapear in the tumbler. Just wear down to nothing. I have been trying to put the finish polish on with a variable speed rotary tool. But the polish i have right now isn't the right kind so its kind of staining the stones. It takes a lot of washes to get them clean. Im getting really good results with bloodstone though because its a much harder stone. So i don't loose 3/4 of my stone by the time they go through all the grit stages.

What was the name of the rotary polisher you recommended for this stone (for beginners) please?

Can you use dry polish on Obsidian?
@ReikiGemWellness4 жыл бұрын
Maybe, I haven't tried. I tend to use dry polish on softer stones that are known to be difficult to polish. I polished Obsidian just fine using the vibratory tumbler 👍👍

Hey. I have a question. So im new to this stuff a i was tryin to clear/cleanse/charge my crystals and I made the mistake of putting lapis Lucy in water and soaking it over night. I also did this with the solidite I also did this with green calcite. I also did this with fluorite. As I've come to understand that those stones should not be soaked in water. They do not appear to be chipped or damaged. But my question is do I run the risk of losing the properties associated with the stones? I just recently purchased a singing bowl im waiting for it to arrive
@ReikiGemWellness4 жыл бұрын
Well, all of the stones you mentioned - I have tumbled then in water. There are only a very few stones that are damaged by water. You won't lose the energetic properties by soaking them in water 🙏🙏

@@ReikiGemWellness Thanks. Do you sell stones that are raw? Like arent smooth.....if understand correctly tumbling is when they are smooth. I like mine jagged

Is there an issue with using 600 grit silicon carbide and then 1000 grit silicon carbide as opposed to aluminum oxide?
@ReikiGemWellness3 жыл бұрын
You can certainly use Silicone Carbide grit. AO is just the one I choose to use - either will work just as well 👍

Not to be picky but after watching other videos from professional vibe and rotors channels, are there not some serious cracks in these or is that just because the professional channels don’t allow the “crack” blemishes. Seems like you’re mostly going to polish and not complete smoothness around each stone…? I don’t know I’m new and just comparing and don’t know what actually matters or not.
@kimberlyhemminger382211 ай бұрын
It is all up to preference. As long as she cleans all the cracks well then it doesn't affect anything. She likes the cracks and blemishes and stuff. She says it adds character to the rocks
