After watching (seriously) all of your videos, I took the plunge and ordered my 1st tumbler! The Lortone 33B will be here in about 2 weeks!

Has anyone ever tumbled Pigeon blood agate. It is only found near the turn off to Bryce Canyon national Park in Utah. I am tumbling some right now it is shining up really nicely and I am on my last week polish. I would highly recommend trying to get some and polishing it because it is very nice.

Hi, I love using your videos to meditate with. I have a silver leaf Jasper, or so I am told, do you have any info on it? Thanks 😊

Silver Leaf Jasper is a very grounding and nurturing stone, so it will bring great comfort when needed. It is also very protective during travel and helps a person feel "whole" and complete 🙏🙏

Shannon, I picked up a small stone while walking some land in west central Texas. A scan search of its photo using a phone app ID's it as red jasper. I thought I found a meteorite because of its small size to weight ratio. If symmetrical, 1.625" x .75" @ 2.7oz. (77gr) ...but not magnetic, therefore the search. Do you know if stone polishing services exist that do one-off items. Don't know why I cant just let this thing go back to nature, but I would like to know how it cleans up. Not so bad right now.

Shannon I love your videos. But am wondering did you stop tumbling after this video?

I did because the pandemic brought the kids home from school and I no longer had the time to tumble.

I missed the tumbler. I never heard of it so I wonder is it like a small washing machine or something?

So how much does each stone cost you? Is it a better deal to just buy some? Tumbling gets expensive.

What does @ “ in course “ or “ course grit” mean or look like. I have no idea. I was looking forward to you showing all the steps. I have lots of Jasper stones in my yard and no idea what to do with them.

Coarse grit is the grade of the grit that's added with the rocks in the tumbler to help shape the stone and later to polish the stones. Generally the rocks tumble for 7 days in each grade of grit for a total of 28 days. Rock tumbling is a fun hobby and lucky you, with all that Jasper in your yard.

Yeah, so grit is separated, overall, into coarse and fine grit. Coarse grit is the first couple stages and fine grit is later. Grit is basically how small the particles are, so your coarse grit is going to grind the stone down, and your fine grit is going to try to make those scratches the bigger grit did to grind the stone into much smaller scratches. Basically: Big grit = big scratches Small grit = small scratches Smallest grit = scratches that you wont see and the stone is a lot smoother

I live in an apartment and I"m new to tumbling, what's the best way to dispose of my slurry?
@ReikiGemWellness
@ReikiGemWellness 4 жыл бұрын
You could double-bag some garbage bags, very carefully rinse with only a little bit of water, then tie a good knot in the bag before you dispose of it. Rock tumbling without access to an outside rinsing place is pretty tough. I wish you the best! 🙏
