I really enjoyed this video, unfortunately the father was the only one that could shoot straight, but his sons did get better as the hunt progressed I must admit, great scenery and the facilities looked first class, plentiful game and of a great variety thanks for sharing this adventure .

Well, of course. He's DADDY ! I'm sure you heard about hunters new to Africa. For the first animal or two, the "light" throws off the shot. Having been there four times already, I'm out of excuses.
@terrywainman60506 жыл бұрын
@@martinstiastny7679 if it takes you 3 shots to kill a animal you shouldn't be on any hunt! You need to go back home and practice your shots. That animal could have killed them all being wounded, both the father & his son missed on the first shot. Not a very professional hunt by the father & son, the trackers did there job brilliantly.
@martinstiastny76796 жыл бұрын
@@terrywainman6050 I agree with you. I heard that excuse when I was in Namibia. People get excited, they're very anxious. They didn't practice enough. They are inexperienced and don't know the anatomy of the animal. They're afraid of the recoil. They have all kinds of excuses.

Shame, young man shoots a nice kudu and gets told he shot the horn off when clearly it's the PH who shot it and had the last shot where the kudu lies. Hope he got his money back or a chance to shoot another bull.
@maineiacacres6 жыл бұрын
The PH explained the kudu had a dead horn at about the 46:00 mark. It looks like it fell off when the beast went down, but the taxidermist will cut both horns off then re mount them to large studs when he does the trophy mount.

If your going to eat what you shoot that's fine but to kill for sport that's irresponsible. If you are going to shoot a animal why not shoot animals that are not endangered and there's plenty of them and leave the elephants giraffes rhino's alone, there's millions of wildebeest and many types of deer. I'm not against shooting but to act irresponsible and kill endangered animals so you can have its head on your wall doesn't make you good hunters just makes you the opposite.

@jongildersleeve26395 жыл бұрын
@Terry Wainman : as a person who has taken 4 of the big 5 from various places in Africa I can give you some information on your "irresponsible" hunters. When I shot my elephant I booked it with a ph that I have hunted with before (named will be left out) on other safari hunts, when I saw him at his booth in Dallas we spoke and asked if I'd be interested in coming for a hunt on new land they had acquired. I thought for a moment and asked what we would be hunting and he said an elephant. Initially I said no, because I never thought of elephants as destructive and dangerous like they truly are. When I arrived to camp I met the widow of a man that was trampled by an elephant trying to protect his garden and home. That moment I realized what I was there to do was not for sport or my own enjoyment, partially yes I will admit it, but not what you would think of it as. The day that I pulled the trigger cost over 50,000 US dollars, a woman walked 14 miles with a baby on her back to take a piece of meat home to feed her family. What I got from my hunt was appreciation for the animal itself, an understanding of what the people in the villages face on a regular basis and a different attitude twords hunting elephant and similar game. With that being said take it as you wish. I read your comment and thought some honest information and 1st hand knowledge of a situation like you described would be understood and/or appreciated.
