Scott’s back at it! You sure know where To go for interesting finds. I was at Station Camp Creek yesterday in Irvine Kentucky met a couple of rock hounds down there. I found one agate. Happy Hounding! I mentioned you channel to them they are on my Community page you are too as one of my favorite channels, they mentioned Agate Dad …I mentioned to them about his 10% off discount on lapidary high tech saws. Etc.

That’s terrific, thank you so much! I enjoy watching Agate Dad’s videos as well. I’m glad you found you an agate. I hope it turns out beautiful for you!

I'm currently working on a piece of Llanite on the high speed sander. It's not going very well. I'm going to have to take it over to the Genie to see if I can get a better polish on it. I think you got a nice haul this time out. I look forward to seeing them in future videos.

I know your pain my friend. Llanite doesn’t take a great shine 😢. I’m going to try Zam and the buffing wheel on my next cab.
@randallalan42219 ай бұрын
That piece you picked up at 10:33 and maybe the one before it could be petrified palmwood. Petrified palmwood does have a straw like cell structure that resembles your examples. Enjoyed the video!

We are in Kingsland this weekend. I did so rock hunting today when we go here. I found a rock just like the one you showed us with all the holes. I think it’s around the 6:18 mark.

That was awesome. We stop at the road cut going into Llano on our way to Fredericksburg but never get anything good. Can you tell me how to get this location. I’ll definitely stop on our next trip out that way. Thanks 🙏
@spwinaustin Жыл бұрын
You were definitely close! It’s the crossing on FM 3404, about 20 miles from Llano. You can just google “the slab in Kingsland” and you’ll find it. Good luck!

Anyone notice the Indian artifact to the top left when you hold up ?Lianite? I’m in Virginia and I have several similar stones, you will find the start of a bird effigy.

Hi, thanks for watching! I honestly never noticed that 🤷♂️

Cool video The llanite doesn’t tumble well. It has a tendency to fall apart if left in the tumbler too long. I have a lot of jaspers up the river from where you were. Some very cool stuff you can find. If you wait for a decent rain in that area, the river will run better, and you’ll find even cooler stuff.

Thanks for the info! I definitely plan on heading back sometime. I have hounded up the river from there as well and found some cool stuff.

@@spwinaustin You may be able to cab some of the harder Llanite. Yes, there's some much cool material in that area, and River, you never know what you'll find up there.

I'd guess coral but I'm no expert! I find some nice horn corals from time to time that take a great tumble. They sort of have a similar structure.
