In my humble opinion, "Maggie May" is 1 of the 2 best rock and roll songs ever recorded ("Hotel California" is the other one). My only complaint is the mandolin riff was missing in this rendition, which makes the song rise to an awesome lyrical, stellar beauty. How much do I love this song? I named my Papillon dog with that name. I get to sing this song to her every day, and she never complains! Recorded in1971, this beautiful song has now clocked over a half-century of iconic popularity. Go, Rod! You deserve all the accolades you received for this break through song (hey, his Christmas album is wonderful too!).

Oh, what a night!!!! They wanted us to come to a party, they were going to. We were scared, not knowing what would happen.... It would have been.pretty fun!!!!
