@stevenholland47717 жыл бұрын
Hmm is it common practice to remove the entire clear coat? When I got a quote they said they remove the whole clear coat and will repaint almost the entire panel. Which seemed to be making it more expensive and it didn't seem necessary for scrapes that covered maybe 10% of the rear quarter panel.

@RodsshopOrg4 жыл бұрын
You do mean a hair dryer right. A blower as in a leaf blower or blow nozzle isn't going to provide the heat you need to make it soft. If your dent is mild enough and you have a super powered hair dryer and want to sit there about 30 to 45 minutes, you could possibly use one.
@benno7074 жыл бұрын

I have an 18" pry bar that tapers at the end. I understand why you want the towel wrapped around the end. My Honda fit bot the right rear bumper messed up and I think I can do it. Then all I'll need to do is touch up paint. Thanks for your reply and video. Very helpful for the guys like me.
@gaui500xs7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Rod. That took a total of about 15 minutes. When it pops out, it happens so fast you don't realize what happened. There was a crease in the middle of the dent but I can live with that. There are a couple of chips but think I can get some factory paint (2015 honda fit) use a tooth pick to fill them in, go back and sand and then buff. I don't think the bumpers have clear coat so should go pretty good. Thanks again, this was something I didn't think I could do.
@JOEGGGJOE8 жыл бұрын
you know, its funny, for years i have always been concerned with refinishing bumpers being that they are plastic. you dont see many people putting a adhesion promoter, primer, and then bondo on top of all of that. usually they just put bondo rite over plastic. and i am a victim of doing that also. but it makes sense. do you use a certain primer and bondo for bumpers?
@JOEGGGJOE8 жыл бұрын
What about the feathered surrounding areas of the prime, base coat, and clear? Do you ever come across a chemcial reaction?
