My plan is to go BS/mining at the start of the expansion to guarantee myself an early good weapon to start the arena season. I don't really plan on joining a raiding guild, I might do kara a handful of times but that's probably it. I'll farm ore on my way to 375 for the mace, once I have the mace and all the ore for JC, I will drop mining for JC. Hopefully that results in me opening the arena season with dragonstrike/dragonmaw, and the JC trinket. Once I get the rating required for the weapon, I will drop blacksmithing and level engineering for the googles in season 2. But I think there is good value in the fact that you can also spend early arena points on other pieces instead of having to horde weeks of points for the weapon
@eddie46913 жыл бұрын
@Frank Rossi i have the same plan bro, only problem is farm mats for later Engi without having mining...
@poisongrob58003 жыл бұрын
@@eddie4691 use this time now to farm all the mats you need to get to 1-300 engineering and mail them to a bank alt. Before you drop mining make sure you have enough mats for BS and Engineering already mailed to another alt. The easiest thing you can do is level a second toon with BS and Herb. You can make passive income on it while you play and keep your main stocked up on what you need

I was thinking of sticking with my LW + Engineering until I read that sappers share their CD with drums so you wouldn't be able to use them on the boss fights. So i might go for LW+JC. But on the otherhand I'm not sure if I want to keep my LW either since only one person in a group needs it anyway and in that case I would be using the sappers in the raids anyway and could just pick JC instead of LW and have the best professions for PVP as well, while also having very good options for PVE.

Always nice hearing the weighted opinion of intellegent person, though I already knew that its best to start with BS/JC and then drop BS for Engi once you get another weapon (I have spare gold). If person lacks gold - he should probably start TBC with Mining/Engineering, get all the mats needed for JC + farm some extra for gold and then drop Mining for JC. Using Aldor sword meanwhile which is not ideal but thats what it is.

According to the Simon spreadsheet, dragonstrike sims lower then talon of Azshara, so your guild would have to be giving you nether vortexes to create a non-bis weapon. In PvP, I would expect every item listed to outperform dragonstrike. I think it's fair to say dragonstrike is significantly worse option than Dragonmaw compared to the other options when they are available.

Think your highly devaluing the +2 weapon damage enchants. +5 weapon damage is roughly equivalent to 38 ap (close just going off of swapping jc necklace) =2 x 2 = 4 so.. its roughly = to 28-29 ap... that's almost twice as good as 8agi
