it’s crazy how easy it is to miss characters that become intrinsic to later quests. Larian did a stellar job making it feel like every character has their own life and interacting with them it’s own consequences. thanks for the video!!!

It’s so true! And if you miss Cal, Lia and Rolan in the Grove, a lot of the other tieflings don’t make it to Last Light Inn in Act 2(like Bex 😢)! It’s so cool how everything is connected and the real consequences Larian put into every choice. Glad you liked it! 😁

i love the writing for Rolan's relationship with his siblings, and it's heightened by George Taylor's voicework! it's that perfect mix of teasing/annoyance and "i'll chokeslam you into Avernus if you hurt them" vibes lmao

I love the fact that Rolan brings his siblings to the tower at the end! Not many of the tiefling refugees get such a happy ending ❤️

Rolan is underrated af. If you convince the "siblings" to leave the grove, almost all the tieflings die because Rolan is a badass in battle. Even Lorroakan after the fight will tell you how powerful Rolan is

I grew to appreciate him! It's easy to dislike him at first because of his cockiness but he's an interesting character :) and I love his siblings lol

FINALLY, in my third playthrough, Rolan survived all the way to Baldur's Gate. When it was time to fight Lorroakan I had like 5 summons ready because I remembered it being a tough fight, and then like two turns into the fight Rolan just shoved Lorroakan off the platform, killing him instantly. My jaw dropped lmao. What a legend.

In my first Honor playthrough after I saved this bozo in Act 2 he started running back towards the Last Light Inn and for whatever reason was instantly exposed to the curse, got turned, and initiated combat with me. Had to stare at him for a second before going, 'Are you f*cking kidding me?' before putting him down with an arrow

I really want to pursue this quest but I've lost him in the Shadowfell. Hours and hours back in gameplay and no way to revive him in the present. I'm almost done with the entire act so I can't go back to help him so I'm really glad you uploaded this. Next playthrough I'll keep him safe this scenario is so worth it.

Alternative route for durge from act 2 : Once Roland leaves last light in to save his siblings you can kill isobel, then go save Roland and go save the prisoners. Once in act 3, with only 1 of your character, go knock Roland out with non-lethal attack, pop an invis potion and leave the tower to cancel combat with the guards and elementals, then go kill Loroakan with or without nightsong and then longrest and voilà, Roland is now an ally somehow

My first play through I skipped moonrise all the way until I freed Dame It led to events of me finding a Rolan in despair and soon in death after I killed his master, so godawful

I didn't get to save lia and cal in act 2 becus they weren't even at the tower. Is this because I didn't persuade them to stay in act 1 and they just died because of that? Please someone help me

You have to convince them to stay in the grove to fight and then they’ll be in Act 2 after surviving the Goblin attack/druids depending on your choices. The moment they leave the grove they disappear from the game but Rolan still will be at Sorcerous Sunderies in Act 3. Hope this helps! 😁

where on the map is it that I find him everything says to go to moonrise waypoint and then just find him. I know if I long rest he dies but all of my characters are out of spell slots and my druid is out of animal transformations.

On the way to Reithwin Town from the ShadowLands, there are three bridges. Rolan is next to the one south of the Tollhouse near some docks. He’ll be in the wilderness leading up to the bridge surrounded by shadow creatures. Let me know if you need more help! 👍🏼

Fuk! Idk what i did wrong. I did all this with Rolan, but i dont remember if there was anyone to save at the moonrise cells. Im wondering if i just never went back to talk to him.
