Cool little trick, not a lot of people get what that was designed to be used for allowing ultra-realistic drums so you can have different samples for different striking. Pays off if you have packs like samples from Mars. Great video keep up the good work!!!

Thanks for the support! I agree, it really shines when using multiple samples for different strikes/modeling. It's why I wanted to share this tip. Plus, I have been hearing complaints that the 707 didn't have the ability to play a different sample for each step, like the Novation Circuit (and possibly MPC, although I'm not sure) can do. This is a low-effort, high-reward feature. I believe all owners should practice this, and the random partial on a tone track trick. It would bring their projects to another level.

@Unit:E most complaints I see on the mc-707 are for people who think it is a sampler more then a groovebox. And those unwilling to explore how deep it's sound engine is. I have shifted my focus lately to making releasable music in the daw but still love my hardware. The 101 goes with me everywhere still makes a great portable midi keyboard mixed with a x touch mini. Gives me all the zen core without having to purchase a seperate vst. Wish roland would give a vst editor for the grooveboxs. I refuse to pay them for the whole Zencore and don't do the whole subscription plan thing.

Even if the 4 waves are just tweaked versions of the same sample, it adds a level of dynamics to the groove.

Have you found the ability to rotate 4 sounds? I guess it would be COMMON/WMT Velocity Control/ then CYCLiC but it doesn't have this one like the tones! Too bad.

No cyclic for drums. You could set the velocity on each step but that’s a lot of work.

How do you load a user sample to "Wave 2/3/4" ? I think I've managed it by populating the sample pool, by loading samples on other pads then reassigning them, but was curious, is this the "best/most efficient" way to load other samples to the 2/3/4 wave settings ??

The way you are doing it is the only way to load to the other waves.

I think they're fine. Adjust their sensitivity gain.

@@UnitE808 i'm on my 8'th iteration of adjusting them, just cannot hit the sweetspot, made me believe it's the hardware. Very curious for your settings though (i know, it's a personal thing but tbh i can't find anything working remotely well)
