You just showed me exactly, why I decided to spend the money on this kit, I can't afford the TD-50-KV, but I'm so impressed with this, I love it.

Thanks for your quick response. Have you thought of making kit modification for sale like v-expression. I love the way you explained how to modify the kit for live setups versus recording. No one ever talk about that. Its mostly all about how it sounds in a set of headphones. Obviously kits like the ones sold by V-Expression and others are created using the recordings method to get the best sounds. Would you suggest modifying these drum kits for live gigs similar to what you did for your live setups?

Really like what you did with this kit. Do all of the cymbals work while running them off of the one module or do you need another module to expand your cymbals? I think that I noticed that there were 3 cymbals that I didn't see you use.

What are your trigger settings like for the snare? I have the TD25KV, but my snare seems too sensitive: my slight taps sound too loud. I have played around with the setting but cant get it right

Would you say the sounds in the 25 are better than the 17? I know the 17 is newer but the 25 is more expensive. That has to be for some reason and i assume its because of the sounds.

Hi:) I have a roland td 25 kv module with the original drum set: 1 snare 3 toms 1 hi hat 2 cymbals : ride and crash I can put on the module 2 auxilare pads or cymbals but I don't knows how can I connect more pads to my module. Do I need splitters? Thanks in advance
@AtTheSourceStudios
@AtTheSourceStudios 6 жыл бұрын
Nicolas Garcia unfortunately TD25 does not support splitters so you're stuck with what you got. Only way to expand is linking to another module. I eventually linked a TD4 and it blended really nice (see dream kit breakdown video)

raise sensitivity whenever use a double kick, at least to 30. sound crazy but u have to, raise the thershold. add a notch and a notch, until u can't hear the double triggar. do not raise it tooo much.

I have a TD-11 Module. Is the TD-25 that much superior to want to upgrade? I value your opinion since your prior module was a TD-11.

Yes by far! It is literally the same quality as td30 just less sounds and IMO way more user friendly.

I will definitely buy a TD-25 module! I can always us my TD-11 Module to expend my kit as you did with the TD-25 and a TD-4.

a Roland td-25 module and a Roland td-11 module combined, u can create a beast drum set. 10 inputs on the td-25 module, not able to split pads on that though since the Roland td-25 module do not allow u to assinagn two different sounds on the rim and the head. and u r going to use this td-25 module for ur main part of drum set. than you use the td-11 module for extra cymbal sounds or toms, or fx. 9 triggar inputs on the td-11 module. you can spilt pads using cable splitters. you can spilt the 3 toms. If you want, you can spilt the crash cymbal. since you have the td-25 module, use the ride sound in ur 25 because there are just no good ride sounds for me to play metal in the td-11 module. so you spilt the ride and u get 3 more input. since u already have the td25 module, so you can actually spilt every pad. so u spilt the snare, hihat, so now u get 4 more input. so now, u have get 19 inputs from the td-11. plus the 10 inputs on the td-25 module. you have get 29 triggar inputs. if u have enough money to get a lot of pad and used up every single triggar input, u will have a crazy drum set that have 29 pieces.

Hey man, would you recommend this module or the 17 to upgrade from the TD-11? I know it’s been sometime since this video and the 17 has been out for a while. Thanks again and great drumming dude!

Yooo! Okay that is a difficult question to answer but ummm okay think if it more like the TD30 sound wise vs the TD17 because the 25 is just a small TD30. I personally liked the TD25 MUCH more than the TD17 like 10/10 times I would grab the 25 but I think if you can try out the 17 at a store, use headphones so you really hear it, and see if you like it. To me though the 17 felt very dead with zero dynamics. That being said for the price, I would also look into a used Alesis Strike module, 2Box DrumIt3 and ATV AD5 because they'll have much better "real" drum sounds. Any of those would be a REAL upgrade in sound. The Strike being my preference of course.
@AtTheSourceStudios
@AtTheSourceStudios 5 жыл бұрын
Check this comparison I did. Unfortunately the 17 did fair too well IMO I actually think the 25 would have done better against the real samples of the Strike and 2Box. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWrFaZ54fsuNntE

SiREN-DRUMS thank you for that info and all the quick responses man! I see what you are saying, I’m concerned the 25 is gonna get replaced soon and I know the 17 is the newest. I know very little about the other 2

@@MrChrisDrums Roland makes highest quality builds for pads/cymbals/etc but unfortunately if you want upgrade in sounds and still tweakability I'd go Alesis Strike module, if you just want better sounds and don't do much tweaking - 2Box, if you don't mind possible machine gunning but want a very low latency similar to Roland - ATV AD5. Any of those will be a huge upgrade from the TD11. I love Roland for ease of use and quality pads but when it comes to sounds the other companies have surpassed them atm. Keep me posted with what you choose to go with! You are right I think they will be phasing the 25 out completely soon tho. Regardless if you go 25 I would look for a good deal on a used one. I think I got mine for like $500!

Does anyone know if you have to have a Roland cable snake to work with the td25 or td17 module or will another brand work? I have one for a Simmons sd1000 drum module and was wondering if that would work. It's pin out. Have a chance to buy the td25 module for a good price but it doesn't have the db25 with it
@AtTheSourceStudios
@AtTheSourceStudios 5 жыл бұрын
I would go with TD17 over the 25 but as for cable snake, it also depends on what cables are included in the snake (mono/stereo) Simmons might use different cables than the 25 so even if the input fit right certain pads might not work. Ride cymbal is the first one that comes to mind. I would just get a Roland one or find a used module that comes with it. Most do.

SiREN2173. Well I know someone who is selling a TD 25 module and td 17 but he only has one cable snake that he's keeping for himself. Was probably going to grab one of the modules today. I'm probably going to have to order one of the db25 cable harnesses because I'm not sure if that's something guitar center or other stores have in store. Just wanted to see if I could use this cable snake would work in the mean time. Also, can the separate aux and 2nd crash input on the td 17 module be split with a normal stereo to dual module splitter? I have 7 of them that I use on my Yamaha modules so was wondering about that too.

SiREN2173. Thanks for the info. Really don't know much about Roland. Will any power supply chord work for Roland if it's correct voltage? If you know.
@AtTheSourceStudios

@@stephenpetrikowski I wouldn't mess with changing the power adapter. Most of these modules in general have a very specific voltage and what not and they never say exactly on the adapters so not worth the risk IMO

Twins Tube Tv in raw sounds no. Not even close. It's a weird battle because the Roland triggers very smooth but don't get that confused with the actual sounds. I would say for at home practice or quick demos - Roland. For legit recording or live use through a PA the Strike hands down.

Alejandro Saldana correct. Some of the samples have just two tones for example a cow bell on a tom would have a low and a high cowbell but you can't separately adjust the sound per zone like the other Roland modules.

Alejandro Saldana You can split the TD-11 and any other module just not TD-25 & TD-4. If you want much better sounds go TD25. if you want a monster kit obviously go TD 11 or get the TD-25 and a cheap Roland Module to ad extra fx cymbals, China, splash etc
