I played one of these in a shop the other day, it's completely gorgeous. One thing I can't understand though is why all the triggers are plugged into the central unit, why isn't there some kind of bus that uses radio or allows daisy chaining? I'm sure there is a reason but i can't figure out what it is. Does anyone know?

on time: 2: 85 did you hear the buzz-roll + position sensing, for the first time at this affordable e-drum unit; the td-25

Is it correct to say that this is a like TD-15 with positional sending and fewer kits/instruments? How do the sounds compare to the TD-15?
@tcellen21369 жыл бұрын
GetOffMyyLawn no. it's more like a lower priced TD30 with the same sound engine as the 30 but without some things the majority of users don't need like multiple out, sequencer, TD20 legacy kit loading etc. There's much more happening soundwise in the TD25 than the 15.

did I export a wav record to USB PEN?. I did it today but the sound is very bad :(

the snare sounds sound on this td-25, are much better than those predecessors such as (the old td-8, td-9) and at new, td-11, td-15, module's.

NO midi in? what's that all about..so i can record out to my Roland FA-06 sequencer but can't get the FA-06 sequencer to play it back on the TD25 as there's no midi IN DIN socket? Makes it rather useless for recording then... oh dear..

So when I was reviewing the TD-17 module, the write-up on Sweetwater's site had these stats listed for the TD-17 Module (Sounds: 310 Instruments / Kits: 50 Preset, 50 User / Effects: Ambience, 3-band EQ, Tuning, Muffling, Snare Buzz, Strainer, 30 x Multi-effect) But for the TD-25 Module which is way more expensive, had these stats listed... (Kits: 36 / Effects: 8 x Reverbs, 21 x Multi-effects, Tone Control) Can someone explain how a module can be MORE EXPENSIVE, but with that much LESS functionality? I get the whole (positional sound) thing and I get that the TD-25 may SOUND better to audiophiles, but to me that doesn't seem to make up for the (LOSS of 310 instruments / 14 kits and / 9 Multi-Effects / and a few other items) but an BIG INCREASE in price. Please explain... Thank you.

Is it possible to play drum loops with the TD25?

Do these brains yet use round robin with several velocity layers?
@tcellen21369 жыл бұрын
Sleepydog yes but it's much more involved than just triggering samples. The engine generates a new, unique sound with each hit rather than just triggering a bunch of samples like the drum software. Generating the sound from scratch is why the realtime latency is so much better than drum software.

This looks like a damn nice kit. Does the brain let you load your own samples?
@GetOffMyyLawn9 жыл бұрын
O.P.F. No... still Roland Supernatural built in instruments only. You need to use midi out and something like Superior Drummer to get other instruments.
@o.p.f.76689 жыл бұрын
Cool, thanks for the info.
@tcellen21369 жыл бұрын
O.P.F. you can add a TM-2 for loading your own sounds and loops and you get an extra 4 triggers along with it. The two can be connected via MIDI and the audio out of the TM2 to the MIX-in of the TD25...best of both worlds without having to sacrifice triggers on the TD25 for playing samples. You can also layer samples and TD25 sounds then as well

simon ayton Wow, that's powerful. I was thinking about just placing MIDI triggers in my drummer's kick, snare and toms and routing them to a laptop with NI Battery running. We're an electronic band so we're trying to figure out how he can play the sounds that we use in our productions. Sequenced drums are boring live. I'm a synth guy, so I'm getting my head around these live drumming rigs.

How do I get into the unit from velocity pads? What unit translates from velocity to MIDI via USB?
@tcellen21367 жыл бұрын
Michael Dawe sorry, I don't understand the question. All inputs are velocity sensitive and all vdrums modules send the midi velocity from 1-127 as standard

143Chippy it's an entirely new sound engine based on the TD30. It's also got wireless capability and audio recorder built-in as well so it's actually quite a leap.
@143Chippy1439 жыл бұрын
simon ayton Like you said.. Its based off the "Old" Tech of the TD-30.. So its not a new sound engine.. Tell me how its a big leap again ... Not. Its a downgrade from old tech that came out years ago repackaged into a smaller cheaper module with less options.. Wow im really excited Roland ! thats a BIG leap forward !!!

I used to own it, awesome drum, sounds just like td 30. Totally worth the money, you will play any gig with it. The guy in this vid totally sucks tho, go listen to real drummers playing this kit
