Taquitos! A favorite no matter where you live! Now I gotta try them on the griddle. Now for a funny... When one of my kids was small, the song "Tequila makes her clothes fall off" was always on the radio...but, not knowing what tequila was, she sang "Taquitos make her clothes fall off" It kinda stuck 🤣😂

Nice recipe. They're called flautas, "flutes", in Mexico (and at least southern US, HEB sells some frozen ones).

Awesome thanks. Is that the same as taquitos.

@@TheFlatTopKing Apparently, I hadn't come across that name much, also tacos dorados. The American names for dishes can get confusing, for example queso just means cheese but it's a very specific type of food in the US.

Right 😄😄 lol, these are traditionally called flautas, already. Flautas (or taquitos) are normally fried with oil in a frying pan, but this video did it on a flat top. Which is interesting, didn’t know you could make flautas like that too 😄😄 great video overall ofc tho

You can also just brush some egg whites on the edge and put them straight onto the flattop seam side down. They will seal just like an envelope in a few seconds. You can then continue or take them back off then and they are prepped for the deep fryer if you want, no toothpicks needed.

He has his own seasoning called PI-YAHHHHH in hundreds of grocery stores, coming out with a fish fry soon and a cookbook in November. I know how important it is to have followers who subscribe to a channel. Just watching this one video I know you will have some awesome recipes and tips for me to try. Got me starving now. Looks great. I’ll definitely be trying this. One quick question. The other night I put corn tortillas on be flattop to warmup and some of them start to actually flake apart? Never had that happen on a frying pan. Any idea what I did wrong. I didn’t put any oil I just used the oil remaining from my cook and I had it a pretty low temp.
@TheFlatTopKing3 жыл бұрын
Thats how exactly i did it. Unless the tortillas were dried out to begin with. Like a bad package or older product. I will say we tried another brand recently and I told my wife the same thing. Seemed so thin that it was to brittle. Oh they also have thin style tortillas as well which would not work.
