D.D.H....Your videos ARE SO HELPFUL. I'm 49 and started skating all over again. I needed a lil help so I went to my local rink and took an hour lesson with a 60 ➕ year old man who was awesome. I heard your voice in my head the entire time. DO NOT LOOK DOWN. Chin up, shoulders stright across, snack area tight, funzone down and knees bent...lol. I actually said these steps out loud. I was rolling in 30 minutes...yeah even backwards. I didn't fall however, I was prepared. l had on all PPE, looked like a hockey 🏒 played (lol)

Okay. This might be a move that I can practice at my standup desk at the office. LOL. I tend to have a very difficult time relaxing enough when I get home from work to practice skating, and my movements are quite rigid. I tested the adjustments I made to the newest pair of skates this evening, and, thanks to your other tutorials, I believe that I was able to get the wheels & trucks set up to my liking. The smaller toe stops I got will need a little more fiddling with. I screwed them in way too short, and I’m not trying to make a trip to the ER. LOL. Also, congrats on all of the new subscribers! 🎉🎉🎉💜

Hi Dirty Debra, I just got into roller skating a little bit over 2 weeks ago and I'm total newbie at 40 years old. Your videos have been really helpful..I watched a few more KZbinrs and Instagrammers rollerskaters too but I went back to your videos every so often as I find it easier to follow for me as a beginner, so thank you for that 🤗 I'm currently doing your 8 parts Lesson for total beginner and I'm just I'm just at lesson 6, and not able yet to do crossovers and spinning. My transition is not smooth yet and definitely need more tuning for backward bubbles, and scissors both forward and backward. I'm trying to get them on point first before going to the next level as advised in your videos. However, some of the dance moves are really enticing 🙈 so I wanted to ask if I can start to practice a little doing this push back too and some other simple dance moves or should I better be at least smooth in those 8 lessons first? 😅 Thank you so much for your time and videos that you make and of course the team too. You guys are really good in what you are doing! Greetings from Malaysia 🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾

Hi Dirty, are you able to do a video on remedies for various pains around the body when skating? I've been skating for over a month now but recently within the first 10mins the balls of my feet start to get cramp-like pain, it's mostly my right foot. I try to relax my toes but nothing helps, i just keep skating until it stops on its own and then my toes tingle a little. I dont know what I'm doing wrong

I just got in to skating I'm 34 a friend of mine skates and is so so so good and I can barely keep my balance. I found your videos about two weeks ago and I'm trying what you say an it has helped I can finally move forward with out feeling like I am going to fall. But my lower back hurts like crazy. And I just cant get rolling backwards. I'm practicing everyday for at least an hour sometimes an hour. I'm sweating like crazy. Hopefully I'll get better.
@Dirtydeborahharry3 жыл бұрын
Rachel ... my skater friend....you are doing TOO MUCH! Okay ... I appreciate the effort but you are going to make skating "unfun" for you if you keep pushing. My recommendation is this ... skate everyday for not more than 30 minutes. Your lower back will loosen up over time and not hurt when you are more relaxed. It tenses up because the rest of your body is tense. You have already made a ton of progress. Focus on some balance exercises while stationary if you want to add on to the 30 minutes.
@rachellittl3bit7213 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! I am practicing outside and the wheels I have are not the best they came on a cheap pair of skates basically one step above kid skates. I'm going to invest in a better pair soon!! Thanks for the advise and all the helpful videos. I'll keep practicing but maybe a little less lol

How do I get my confidence back, after fracturing my wrist? I will be 57 this month. I'm in 4 weeks, movement thearpy for my wrist and hand.
@galakari3 жыл бұрын
Hi Pamela! We are the same age!!! I fell last summer, didn't fracture any thing. But face planted, got a bit brused all over and got very scared. Since I'm a new skater - that is it's 39 years since I last had quads on my feet - and it's not like bicycling!!! And after my fall I've had major set backs. I've not been much out skating this summer - I'm still scared and much stiffer in my movements. I have to start all over... Maybe that's how you can do it after your accident as well? I hope the rest of your recovery will be smooth, and I hope your confidence will return soon! Love and healing light from Norway! :-)
