Blue Sky ! Fantastic choice in music. Great job on the application of the bench wheels. Thank you for sharing.

Great job, Sir! Thank you for sharing this with us, I know I really appreciate it as I'm having to replace my Craftsman Table Saw Stand & I want it to sit in a base that I can make mobile & once I get it situated then lower it back down onto the floor & I think you've given me the perfect setup for that job!

Looks like it works fine, I was waiting for the part to see how you routed the pull string though! That would've been nice to see that part!

I made a similar caster design except that instead of magnets on the support boards, I just used spring-loaded screen door hinges. I like your improvement over the NYW design in that you do not have the caster board supported by another board near the hinge. Since your "kicker" boards are tied right into the workbench legs, they support all the weight. No need for the caster board at the hinge (or the hinges themselves) to support any weight. I did make one improvement -- instead of swaged butt hinges like you used, I just used surface-mount gate hinges. Those are not swaged, and so did not require mortising a depression in the board for the hinge pin.

Thanks, J. You have some good ideas there. I thought about using the spring-loaded screen door hinges too and bought some. But the ones I bought had too powerful a spring so I didn't use them. I thought it would be too hard to pull them up.

Compared to the weight of the table, pulling the rope is almost nothing. I have a single piece of rope (one on each end, so two total) threaded through some eyebolts so the top of the loop is a few inches below the bottom of the workbench top. When I lift the workbench I can simultaneously pull the rope up and I barely notice the tension on the rope.

I need hydraulic system my workbench is full of tools underneath.

Yeah, it is hard to lift the one I've got. There are tools in the drawers and the vises are heavy too. Good luck!
