The people that mix both languages are known as "Rumañoles" (Rumanians+Spaniards) [Rumanos+Españoles]. I was waiting for this video.

@@vlachlemnmichail they aren’t really distant, they’re both Romance languages & one of the closest to Latin (Sardinian being the direct offspring to Latin), while French is the most distant. But all modern Romance languages are closer to each other than to Latin (except for Sardinian for sure)

@@vlachlemnmichailresult of migratory movements, that mixture is spoken by small communities with fluency in both languages that ended up mixing them into a kind of pidgin, as for example declining Spanish nouns the romanian way, or using romanian words into a sentence that is mainly Spanish, it is similar as how the Llanito language pidgin in Gibraltar works. Some examples: închide ventana te rog (close the window please), haide in comedor (let's go in the living room), he entendido că tenemos que ir vineri la boda de la prima ta (I've understood that we've got to go Friday at your she-cousin's weeding) and so on.

1:51 greşelile looks to me like a loanword from a Slavic language. "грех (grekh)" means sin in Russian. "bezgreshny" is a person without any sins. And "izbăveşte" is like izbavit' in Russian.

I'd say that the words that has the most to do with religion have the most chance to be of Slavic origin, for example dragoste (love), a iuba (to love), trăi (to live), diavol (devil, althoug it sounds almost the same as diavolo in Italian). But I have to contradict myself here because there's another word for sin, păcat, which comes from Latin peccatum. Also the word for God, Dumnezeu, comes from Domine Deu, which is undoubtedly Latin. Also another word that has everything to do with religion is ruga (to pray), coming from Latin rogare. Compared to rogar in Spaniss and pregare in Italian the similarity is indeed noticeable. Also there's the word rugare which is almost the same as rogare. That's what makes Romanian a very interesting language to be honest, you can definitely see the Slavic influence but it's so damn Latin at the same time.

@@andreivlad3518 No, according to a research conducted by Kim Schulter in 2009, the percentage of inherited Latin words is 60%. Meanwhile, 19% of words are borrowings from French or Italian, and 14% of words are from different Slavic languages.

the words of Old Slavonic origin are: sființească (Sl: sventŭ, Eng: hallow/sanctify), greșelile/greșiților (Sl: grĕšiti, Eng: mistakes/mistake doers), ispită (Sl: ispytati, Eng: temptation), izbăvește (Sl: izbaviti, Eng: save/salvation) Old Slavonic was the church language for centuries and many words with religious connotation were borrowed in Romanian.

Vocabulary similarity is indeed low apart the first four numbers and some words like yo -- eu and piel--piele; most words are different even if they come from the same latin words. Italian is the most similar to Spanish as regard similary . However ,Romanian and Spanish share grammatical feature like compound tenses with verb "to have " and comparative form with mas/mai .

Choosing the Prayer for Romanian will obviously not be similar to the other Romance languages. Thats because its old and uses slavic words that we dont even use anymore. Almost every slavic word has a latin synonym which is far more often used. The slavic words are only used among elders.

only 4 words are of Slavonic origin in that text: sființească, greșelile/greșiților, ispită, izbăvește who cares anyway? Spanish has Arabic words, Italian has Germanic/Arabic, French has Germanic words. each language has its own flavors on top.

@@Langwigcfijul Yeah. Where I lived in Spain people spoke Catalan on an every day basis. So I learned it by listening to it. But Romanian has been separated for a long time and has influences from the languages around it. I can read Portuguese ok, but when Portugese people speak I have to concentrate and ask them to repeat if they speak too fast. They understand me just fine, but the other way around is more difficult.

When comparing the Romanian language with another foreign language, avoid presenting prayers or verses from the Bible. The reason is straightforward. Church terms in the Romanian language contain many words of Slavic origin because the Romanian church was very long influenced by the Bulgarian one. And, consequently, this comparison is not eloquent compared to the rest of the daily colloquial conversations.
