Yeessss! Thank you! So, you are so right but I saw it when I was a kid and I saw he's face full of hate. Great acting, so much so it scared me lol. I haven't been able to look at him without thinking about him like that. The way his nostrils flared. I had an ex that made that same face. He was abusive. No worries though, he is now 12 years behind me, but Michael's face still frightens me to this day all because of this movie.

I think you should make it up to Mr Douglas by watching The Jewel Of The Nile (the sequel to this movie) and The China Syndrome (1979) but to take your side a little, he has played a few menacing roles and power position roles where his characters are questionable.

Michael Douglas is the son of Hollywood Legend Kirk Douglas. Michael started his acting career playing a police detective on the tv show The Streets Of San Francisco. He went on to star in some of the most famous movies of the 80's and 90's, including Basic Instinct. But he also has a great career as a producer and was responsible for the movie One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. He is now more famous for playing Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, in the MCU movies. Oh, and Michael Douglas and Danny Devito have been best friends in real life, since the 60's.

The sequel, "The Jewel of The Nile" is very good. "The War of the Roses" came out when my wife and I were having problems. It was a good therapy session. We stayed married for another 30 years.

When this film came out, Michael Douglas was in the same realm as actors like Bruce Willis and Harrison Ford. Good actors who were classically handsome, but somewhat rugged. Neither the pretty boys who became popular later or the over-the-top muscles from action actors (Schwarzenegger, Stallone, etc.).

Another one from the 80's when i was a kid. Nice work ladies. A fun fact: the story is in Cartagena , but was filmed in Mexico and the last scenes are in Veracruz City, where the Castle is in fact San Juan de Ulua, an old prison , now you can visit as a museum. A lot of mexican actors appears in this movie too. The bad guy (General Zolo) was Manuel Ojeda, he died last year.

@@RuntotheMovies Mmmm i dont think so. The beginning of Predator is Mismaloya beach, the rebel camp is a tourist attraction (El Eden) , both in Puerto Vallarta and i visit this places often. Perhaps the waterfall scenes are in the same areas of "Romancing the Stone", but i think is in Chiapas

Another good movie with Michael Douglas is 'Black Rain' i think it's less known than this one. If u are looking for similiar type of movies like Romancing the Stone you should give Crocodile Dundee 1&2 a try, if you haven't watched them yet.

My Godmother had This and Beverly Hills Cop recoded from TV. I almost religiously watched these as kid. I pretty much watched the tape so much it began to wear off. Still one of my favorite movies. Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglass had another movies with Danny DeVito besides Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the nile: War of the Roses. Its good black comedy about when divorce becomes a war.

The PG-13 rating was created because of Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom! The guy getting burned alive scene, crocodile rope bridge scene, etc. was deemed too intense for small kids but the overall film was not graphic enough for an R-rating, so MPAA came up with a new rating.
