What's the point of the death penalty if he's going to be sat on death row for 35 years awaiting the result of appeal 648? Either do it within a few months, or just give life without parole. Millions of dollars are going to be pissed down the drain now.

FL doesn't wait as long as other states. And they also don't require a unanimous vote, as seen in this case. If this crime had happened in another state, he would have received life which is not an appropriate punishment for him.
@Anactualfungus

Because Death Row inmates are twice as likely to be completely exonerated of any wrongdoing than lifers. Because police are corrupt and the public is impressionable, and will lower their standards of conviction or outright fabricate evidence in order to say that a heinous crime was "solved" and make themselves feel safe. Because even a benevolent government makes mistakes and should not be able to easily end someone's life. And I'm sure you don't think the government is benevolent so i don't know why yall throw out your anti-government beliefs when it involves the power of life and death?
@KraftyKreator
@KraftyKreator 3 ай бұрын
This is why the death penalty is so expensive. But, however, appeals are a necessary part of the judicial system. We have had far too many “oopsies” where we were posthumously realizing someone was innocent after execution. That’s a travesty. After all killing a person isn’t a small thing, it’s supposed to go all the way to the top, appeals are automatic if it’s a death penalty case. I’m not agreeing with the amount of time, just explaining why it can drag on, not excusing the length this is taking.

I feel for the people that they killed. My opinion of Charlie is that he is obviously not completely sane, but that he is also intelligent enough to play crazy sometimes that's what happens in his interviews. He says some insightful things then follows it up by saying things like " if I started killing there wouldn't be anyone left". He does it for attention and it seems to have worked well for him. Having said all of that I would never trust him in real life. He admits to being a criminal. I don't like being around criminals, but if the Tate murders never happened I don't think he would have ever ended up being a mass murderer. He would eventually have been imprisoned for theft or writing bad checks and nobody would know who he is. Dr G! Excellent video! Would like to ask for a video request?! Can you cover “killer fans” , women and men who send inmate letters and money and visit them even marry them? It’s so fascinating to me!!! We got gypsy rose marrying a “fan” Ryan Anderson in prison (she needed him to meet parole IMO) then leaving him upon parole and getting with a previous “fan” Ken Urker and now they are expecting a baby “allegedly” lol and she’s not even divorced from the first fan, the whole “killer fan” mentality is so crazy to me, sending murderers money and letters and visit them, Marry them etc is so insane , please cover this!

He ended up in ICU with brain injuries, amongst other things, a while before all this occurred. He claimed to be part of a gang in jail but then got caught having sex wihh a man in his cell and knowing that this particular gang doesn't allow this, or at least not to get caught, they beat him up. He had a meth problem also, so this answered a lot of things. But what's shocking is that after it, he actually told his GF what had happened. The full detailed story. She stayed with him as well, but he kidnapped, beat, and sexually assaulted her also. So the beating obviously gave him head injuries, that when he added meth to his system, he went OTT. He still knew to some degree, though, what he was doing. Meth started it all, it looks like.
