This aint a comedy, this is real life situations. Watches this back in the day thinking it was a comedy but after going through a divorce and losing the girl that meant everything to me this movie really hits different. May sound corny but the way jennifer and vince breaks up in the movie is basically the exact same reason why i ended up losing “her”. The biggest lesson ive learned is to NEVER take things for granted.. i hope nobody else has to go through the pain i did. Respect and cherish your woman at all costs. Theres only so much a woman can take before making a decision to pack it up even if it hurts.

For sure, I think especially teaches how to appreciate your partner and always put effort into, really all your relationships, and not take the people you want for granted. Also it teaches you can’t really change someone and you shouldn’t try to. Both parties in the relationship made mistakes and had to grow as people. They went into their relationship not knowing what they wanted and compromising which is never good.

But you have to grow as a person to become the person you need to be to get to that other point eventually but if someone doesn't match or fit into your life do not compromise it and hope it will get better because it's gonna get a lot worse. You should be you and whoever fits into that then it's great if not move on. The message from this movie says very simple: Be you and do you, and if people wanna change you do not allow it move on from them, but if you do find that special person that is great for you and fits into your life and values then yes you have to compromise in life and support each other in the areas that are needed. Which this movie explains what not to do at all hahaha. which a lot of people don't even see it or learn it which is very sad. but good luck.

Well, she learned even before leaving that he wasn't worth her time, so the 2 extra minutes were a great investment. All the "serves her right for not being on time!" comments are missing the point--if she HAD been ready exactly then, she wouldn't have learned so fast that he was basically the same as her ex: just another guy who wouldn't prioritize her and who didn't care if she was bored, upset, or not having fun, so long as he was. She had the slightly petty impulse to display him for a few moments while she grabbed something; but he kept her waiting for 20+ minutes and then didn't focus on her once alone. While Brooke had a very good reason to breakup with Gary in the beginning of the movie. She is the villain after that. Everything she does after the breakup, is done in order to manipulate him.
