I love the incredible acting here... Leslie knows exactly where and how to get to the core of his existence and does so in the most lovingly way possible as she wants him to know that someone else sees him for who he really is. As he finishes the poem, we can feel that, had he been alone on that cliffside with no cameras around, he would've unleashed decades of repressed tears for a good ten minutes and he's about to. But then he remembers that he's not alone and he snaps himself back into "manliness". Again, superb writing... superb acting. Truly miss this show.

@@VivaLaDnDLogs a rule of thumb is that most of the most mysterious and captivating places are hardly known outside of Britain. Often the locals themselves are oblivious to it. I live in the South West of England, and within three miles of my house are two Neolithic burial chambers (about 6,000 years old), Bronze Age barrows, countless standing stones, an Iron Age hillfort, a stone circle, and so much more. Half of it isn't even marked on a map, and the fact that most have all but dissolved back into the landscape only makes them more atmospheric. And all set amidst the most glorious, isolated countryside, where the crowds never go. I'm always amazed when my overseas friends make straight for London, or even Stone Henge (waaaay too touristy, sadly) and miss what Britain is really about. Anyway, nice talking to you. And yes, coming back to your original point, Scotland is glorious. Me, I'd include the Orkneys, and take in places like Maeshowe... sorry, archaeology freak confirmed.

The poem is about taking comfort in the company of people you love and when the trials of life tear you apart, you'll constantly dream of being back with them and when you are, your happiness and love will be renewed, just like nature after the winter.

Honestly scenes like this are why I honestly love Parks and Rec more than the Office. In Parks and Rec they all love each other, sure maybe sometimes they’re bad people, but in the end Leslie helps everyone be better people.
@desmondkelly5178

Ive always expressed it this way. Park & Rec is a better tv show with better and more encompassing story. Whereas The Office is more humorous & tells less of an overarching story. In the end of Parks n Rec Leslie gets her park at lot #48 - even tho we dnt see it built. The office ends with Dwight finally taking over Dunder Mifflin. Michael finally has a family of his own that aren’t his fellow adult staff. Yet the how- of how we get to these places with the characters are different. More of a linear story with P&R. The office gets there much more chaotically

Very late in replying to your comment, but I just visited Islay last week and it was incredible. If you do go, the location where he reads the poem is on the cliffs beside the American Monument. It's about a 15-20 min hike, but one of the most gorgeous, life changing places I've ever been.
