He has to be the most creative artist we’ve had (at least that has been known) in decades if not longer. Just the concept for this song alone. Who else has done something like this in this way that it comes across like a movie or theatre? Tying everything together at the end with Jenny and Screech being twins separated at birth because their mother died due to violence, just for them to both die of violence and one at the hand of the other. Crazy creativity.

I am SO impressed by your ability to take in a performance, allowing the art to speak, without the repeated ADHD interruptions of verbal diarrhea typical of nearly all reactors. I can not tell you how refreshing it is to watch someone who recognizes the artistic and musical nuances, is able to take mental notes, and is perfectly fine talking about all of it after being able to experience the piece as the artist intended - as a continuous performance. It hurts my brain when I see reactors who are clearly recognizing what they're watching as something special, decide to derail their own 1st time experience in order to blather on, or ask the most inane questions of a comment section that exists only in the future. They'll do it for minutes at a time, some doing so 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 times over the course of the song. I feel bad for them because you never get second chances at 1st time experiences.

It makes me really sad, that we are losing the ability to truly engage. I see it with my 17yo son. As he's watching a movie he's also looking up stuff about that movie on his phone. He argues that it extends his understanding of what's going on, but I think it derails his empathetic connection to the characters and storyline. When reactors continually stop to add their own comments, they're failing to allow the emotional impact of what they're seeing. Part of the absolute genius of Ren is these terrible dichotomies he creates; moments where we are in awe of the sublime creativity at the same time as being hit with the brutal content of the lyrics. It makes for some very uncomfortable moments, wherein we are challenged to examine our own responses and ideals. This is the point of his music. I think we are losing that ability to self-interrogate, and I worry about what that means for our emotional growth as a society. Anyway, that's my two cents worth. I really enjoyed this reaction.

A bunch of people probably already told you but in Ren's interview he did with the reactor Black Pegasus he had his cameraman Sam with him and they talked about how they have a pilot or concept video done with them being able to make five more and they're pitching it to Netflix. In the future he wants established artists and especially up and coming artists to be on the show if it works out. It will be like musical theater but done simply the way him and Sam did The Tales of Jenny and screech. Because when it's simple like this and not all flashy with cut scenes, it literally brings you into the story even more cause there's nothing else to distract you. So you have to act like you're living it and perform, play guitar, rap, piano whatever and do it convincingly like Ren did or us the viewers will see right through it. If you want to see what Sam his cameraman looks like he's the dude driving Ren around in his rap video "Power" which is awesome song BTW and a little back story in it about Ren. And it's actually an uplifting Ren song for once haha not sad and an uppercut to the feels like some of the stuff you've reacted to already lol. Another amazing Ren one take is "Money Game" it's a one take, but it took them 128 takes to get the ONE take haha. Amazing acting and storytelling by Ren in that one too. There's a Money Game 2 and Money Game is in the works! Awesome reaction as always!

Excellent reaction to this great work of art--the power of a two-hour movie condensed into 13 minutes! Ren, in at least two interviews and/or Twitch sessions, talked about him and his videographer Samuel preparing material to present to Netflix as a proposal for a series. I love your reactions, very heartfelt and quick on the uptake, the music and art appreciation you show. Some seem to miss the import of certain phrases, or the penny doesn't drop with the twist at the end, some reactors expressions are dramatic as the words hit, so I'm am never sure if everyone gets some bits. Like in 'Hi Ren' near the end where he says 'Some people know me as Hope... Some people know me as the voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope...' That second line hit some hard, as it does me, because that is how a friend of mine took his life only days after a long online chat with me, it was his dad who found him. I had messaged mutual friends that I was worried, people who were nearer him (he was in the UK), so that is also why the end of 'Suic*de' hits hard, the sense you were late, you could have done more. In 'The Tales,' I think some miss this part: 'every night he tuck her tight but never left the room...' 'I'll spare you with the things he did, I'm sure her mother knew...' 'moved out at 16, a semi-detached council flat provided by a welfare scheme...' The only girl who would get a council flat like that in the UK would be pregnant... she was likely pregnant by her father. Multigenerational trauma and abuse. Perhaps part of 'Stevie's' anger and calling her a liar? These videos were actually made a year apart. The basis of the idea came from a newspaper article about two youths who lost their lives, first a young prostitute in Paddington who was killed during a mugging, then the young offender who killed her shot dead by responding officer. There is a line that was a quote from the article where the commanding officer said 'they were so young, it's such a shame.' So Ren uses it, 'It's such a shame.' Originally it was just the two videos, but the third part was created to bring them back together as a way to understand the origins of the characters, the generational abuse, neglect, and trauma that led to their lives, a repeat of their parents, and the resulting continuing tragedy. Shakespearean indeed.

Ren just raised 23,000 pounds for this Volunteer Nautical Search & Rescue Team from his hometown in Whales, UK. They were the people who searched; night & day for almost a week, for the body of Ren's best friend Joe Hughes. Joe committed suicide jumping from a bridge. Ren released a tribute song to Joe 13yrs after his passing to raise the money in his memory. Ren recorded this LIVE From Calgary, where Ren has been in treatment for his Lyme Disease. Maybe not for everyone, but for myself, I can literally "see" the story he's telling. He's just walking around but I "saw" what he was saying. I've never experienced something like that before. He's a master bard for sure.

Very good reaction, I do appreciate you playing the piece in its entirety before commenting, it really does make your reaction much more genuine. As for the intuition, I remember when I was a younger man sitting in a pub having a drink with my girlfriend and I just got that ominous sense that something was not right anymore, I had no idea what it was but my brain had obviously picked up on something. I didn't even finish my drink (as a Scottish man that is a BIG deal let me tell you 😅), I just left with the girlfriend and didn't look back. As soon as we were out of there and got further up the street the feeling changed and all was good once more. Intuition is something I personally never question. Keep up the great work 👍

First of all - I'm so glad you listen to your gut feeling - It's often right! Secondly - AN IRISH MAN NOT FINISHING A DRINK?!? My parents always told me I had a liver of an old Irish man. Well... not anymore I lowered my alcohol intake a lot. A LOT. Guinness is still my favorite stout btw. (:

This is rough, it's hard going. But, Ren is providing us with a safe space to understand a little more and hopefully discuss these issues in a place away from the usual 'hyper-polarised' societies that we increasingly find ourselves in, where who says something is more important than what is being said. 'He/she said it, they are over there, who cares what they have to say.' In these spaces that are being created, such as your own here, regardless of our affiliations we can be charitable and kind to each other and try to help each other grow. Massive hug to anyone who might be in need of one. big kiss and just remember that Ren has a lot of light hearted stuff. too. x

My Nf friend! Hello again ms. Roni, so great reaction ma’am! I can easily see you becoming immersed from start to finish in this video, your emotions overflowing and ceasing you’re body language to a perfect still. Which only conveys to me what I already knew, you feel the art through your bones. As tough as it was to sit through the video I give this man his praise , with each verse of each song he’s making it a point to say that you may not be familiar or relate to this scenario but you’re going to hear about this way of life in the first two songs and if you still can’t see what I’m projecting Then my third song will slap you in the face with a shovel and then you’ll open your eyes. Well at least that’s my interpretation and why I love music as well because it means something different to all of us! Again amazing reaction and I’ll see you next video ma’am!!

his art is next level and you see it when artists see it. So many layers to this trilogy. Jenny walking the streets aged 14, in heels like she did a thousand times..obviously her foster care didn't go well when violet died. She felt something was off, her intuition... maybe because her Twin was around the corner. Even screech... his friend patrick wasn't there.. and his girlfriend wouldn't let him come round... Patrick over there? Jenny cut the rosie (red) off her cheeks.. screech shouting himself (blue) red+blue = violet ;)

On Ren's channel in the Tales of Jenny and Screech section he has "Screech's Tale - the Instagram stories" - Ren did a series of short instagram stories as a way to further develop Screeches character (brilliantly done IMO). in the comments of that video Ren describes what he did and how he did it. It's a whole other level of depth to Ren's creativity and artistic masterclass in storytelling.
