Friday night dances and sock hops were always the best part of the week.* I could never count the number of times I've danced to "In the Still of the Night." I didn't understand at the time how special it was to grow up in small-town America in that era. Looking back, I can see it clearly. How did I get so fortunate?? *Just need to add that, during the summer, teen night at the pool was right up there with the Friday night dances.

Why not remember try to remember the feelings of long ago..the beginning of all our hopes and dreams. If we are able to lose ourselves for awhile .. remember and feeling can be a blessing. You never worried about getting shot on your front porch or at a store. People went out of there way to help each other in the 50s and 60s. People Preach forget about the past and think about the future. I don't want to forget about the past because it was a past worth remembering forever. The future is something to worry about.

She was on her way home & Tried to Beat a Train across the tracks. But, her car Stalled. The Train Hit her & Decapitated her. She was Soo BEAUTIFULL Both Inside & Out. And LOVED by Any & Everyone who knew her. That's been 38 yrs ago. And i Still SEE her BEAUTIFUL ANGEL Face & "ANGELIC BLUE EYES" With Long Flowing Georgous Blonde Hair. She LOOKED Like an "ANGEL"!! This May sound Odd and/or Weird? But, i can Still SEE the "Smile on Her Face, Sparkle in her Eyes & Hear Her SWEET SOFT VOICE" when certain Songs Play!! She WAS the "SUNSHINE OF MY LIFE" & I Still MISS You ALOTT SWEETHEART!! R.I.P. My ANGEL & I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN "REALLL SOON"!! Saw Ronnie in concert in the the 80's. He was fantastic! My father in law disappeared for about 30min after the concert. We found him just as he was walking out of the tour bus. He was invited in to meet Mr. Millsap.

I love Robbie’s talent and sense of humour. In this video he is driving a car; not bad for a blind man.

I never knew he had a cover of this song. Love it. I knew this song from Dirty Dancing and Ronnie's version has been requested the past 2 nights on the country radio and I instantly fell in love... miss the old country legends 😔

My dear Granddaughter made me a DVD of pictures of me all throughout my life. They floated continuously. One then it went back as the next came out. She started with me as a baby & to the last taken. And my horses & dogs & cats. She knew this was a favorite song. So it played throughput it. She started it like a movie. And a title. She was my 1st grandchild & was brutally murdered a yr later.

Born 1964, still get a tear in my eye listening to this, thinking about my folks, married in '59 - and we played this song in a cover band i played in. Great tune, only Ronnie could write it
@joshuabrooks49072 жыл бұрын
It was actually written by Troy seals, and someone else, along with Five Satins' singer Fred Parris, who wrote the song the chorus came from.

Brings back memories of my era! After football game dances, my date whispering in my ear how great I played, cruising from one end of our home town to the other! Truly a time of sweet innocents!
@nancybogart38995 жыл бұрын
Dave Logsdon hi DAVE! But now the question is can you still hear the whispers laugh out loud
@Squee_Dow Жыл бұрын
Sounds exactly like my youth. Depending on which year (sophomore, junior or senior), I may not have been able to whisper how well my guy had played since the one in my junior year was mostly a bench warmer. 😆 But it was okay with me because he was a good dancer. Those Friday night dances and sock hops were always the best part of the week.* I could never begin to count the number of times I've danced to "In the Still of the Night." I didn't understand at the time how special it was to grow up in small-town America in that era. Looking back, I can see it clearly. How did I get so fortunate?? *Just need to add that, during the summer, teen night at the pool was right up there with the Friday night dances.
