Ronnie is a year older then me so I've growing up watching the class of 92 career. Love the game thanks to Steve Davis and Jimmy White bit the class of 92 players especially Ronnie brought the game to a new level. Ronnies 5 mins 20 seconds 147 is unbelievable when you watch it. It's hard to belive that anyone could do that . That's one record will never be beat. Thanks Ronnie for giving me such joy watching snooker.

Imo he's played the greatest shot of all time against ding junhui in the final frame of the Welsh open, the red down the cushion with the left hand.
@NothingSuitsMeLikeASuit4 жыл бұрын
that was a great shot under the pressure but not the greatest of all time imo

You can’t talk about ROS 147s without mentioning the one against Williams in 2008 worlds. The best of his maxis for me and that shot where he flicked the red out off the top cushion with almost zero angle is one of the best shots I’ve ever seen.

My fave would have to be final frame against selby at the UK 5-6 hours of torture then 147 magic
@SnookerFan-kl1jj4 жыл бұрын
Yes that black of the top cushion to develop the red was a corker. The boys in the studio tried it and couldn't get close. The 97 maxi was special too, never once out of position.

This is more about people who want to convince others that Ronnie is the Greatest player to play.Ask yourselves this simple question..If your life depended on it who would you want to play for you? As you all know there is only one player and that what makes him the Best ever.No need to name him as you know who it is.Ronnie does come 2nd though.

@Wayne Anthony Holmes Wayne it's been nice getting messages.I really don't think we will ever change our views.I really don't think Ronnie has the mental toughness Stephan has. Ronnie is a wizard in the table and to be honest since Stephen retired there hasn't anyone else come through apart from Ronnie.There is just nobody worth watching anymore.Ronnie has only won the last couple of world title because the others are intimate by his gamesmanship.Stephen wasn't and when the chips were down Stephen showed Ronnie who is Boss.Why don't you ask Ronnie who is the Greatest player ever.I know who he will say.
@SnookerFan-kl1jj4 жыл бұрын
@@allangrant6349 Really Hendry showed him who was boss. Their head to head suggests otherwise. In ranking events Ronnie leads 12 - 11, in ranking finals 4 - 2, in all finals 9 - 4. As for Ronnie being mentally weaker than Hendry, also rubbish. In deciders where the pressure is at it's most intense, he has the best success rate in history at 64% (Hendry is at 59%). Here's the most interesting stat, peak Hendry only edged Ronnie 13 - 11 from 93 - 99. Ronnie did not hit his peak until 2004, so imagine the damage that Ronnie would have inflicted on Hendry in the 90s. Wishful thinking to claim that Hendry is mentally the strongest player, when the numbers do not back this. Also stating that Ronnie's rivals are intimidated by him is not true. Trump, Selby and Higgins have all got under Ronnie's skin on many occasions. Hendry's opponents were the ones who were intimidated because they weren't good enough, especially White the biggest choker in history.

@@SnookerFan-kl1jj I've been watching snooker since the days of Joe Davis and Ray Reardon.Stephen Hendry surpasses any player that has picked up a cue.The shots he takes on and pots are just out of this world and those are under the most extreme pressure.Ronnie is a nice enough Guy and is an Amazing talent.Ive him since he came on the scene and the only thing he does that probably impresses so many people is that he plays fast.Ronnie himself the other week admitted that there is no New talent coming through.Alot of people have lost interest in snooker over the last few years since Hendry retired.Go and check the stats on that.Ronnie is Getting easy wins because players like Hendry,Higgins,Williams and others great players have pasted thier peak.Selby,Trump and I can't name anyone else but those 2 haven't got the ability to win much more.That said I really can't see Ronnie having the bottle to Equal snooker Greatest achievement ever and that is won another World Championships.
@mrloop15304 жыл бұрын
To the troll in this comment section: Complaining about bias, and then listing only records and arguments for Hendry as goat seems pretty paradoxical and unintelligent. Well, I can only assume you are trolling, and if so; congrats 😊 Obviously Hendry was the best player of his era. And he was dominating the snooker scene, albeit a pro tour with far less quality than in Ronnie's prime years. But if you want to argue from domination and number of world titles, you will have to put Joe Davis in as the goat, mate. Hendry and Ronnie speak very respectful of each other. Why not learn from them? Why would you feel the need to thrash a five times world champion, who is by most players - including most players, who played with both them - considered the best player ever? Do you even have some grasp on the subject at hand? Even though I consider Ronnie the best player ever, I actually think Trump might surpass him. He's playing shots, that no other player is capable of, and he might still have his prime ahead of him. Anyways; happy trolling and/or hating 😅
@jamesgoing45274 жыл бұрын
I agreed until you mentioned Trump..... for a start off he's untapped potential for now not enough triple crowns and as for his shot selection which look great at the end of a frame when it's won also he only has to play these shots you speak off because his cue ball is all over the place so he has to use this cue power unlike Ronnie who has the cue ball on a shoe string for every century he makes..... Hawkeye can't keep up with him when he's on it🤔
