When ever I walk up to a service call on a follet, the first thing I do is clean those units. 9 times outta 10 it’s over amping cuz it’s dirty. I’ve left cleaner in them too gotta make sure you flush the crap out of it and run away as it makes ice

i Was Cleaning up a ice o matic flaker a while back and found something interesting. All the insulation was Worn out around all the piping inside the machine and it was dripping water everywhere. i Replaced the insulation on All Piping inside the machine and the machine ran so much better. Txv bulb was being affected by Ambient Because it was basically not insulated. Flooding evaporator causing problems flooding compressor. Re-insulated All Pipes. Cleaned condenser , descaled evap. Purrs like a Kitten now.

Badass. This machine has like 3 major problems. Leak, bearings and possibly txv power head. We will see what they want to do...

i ALLWAYS advise people to stay Far away from flakers. Buy a Hoshizaki ice machine & a seperate ice crusher. Customer gonna be wayyy happier. Cubers are wayy less maintenance and wayy more reliable. just run cube ice through a crusher for crushed ice.

Good Video. I Hate Flakers ! Nobody makes a Good one That Wont blow out a Gearbox. i Was the service Rep For Reynolds ice machine Flakers Back in the Late 80's and 90's. i've Worked on Literally Hundreds of Reynolds Flakers. perhaps Thousands. Reynolds Flakers Everyday for Years !

You Look like your doing good for your first year. 38 years here. started in 1981. If u get a chance go to all the traing schools u can. hoshi , ice o matic , etc. def worth the time.

We have over 30 Follet ice machine in are health facility, You need to replace the bottom and top bearing and use Follet safe clean after replacing bearing's and sanitize it after. That Ice machine is fealty.
