Omnidog's Vault I really wanted to avoid reading before watchmen. Is that essential? I’ve read the other titles and a lot of rebirth and I feel on a solid foundation. Plus I’ve read pre-flashpoint for twenty years.

I got the rebirth expanded omni and justice league rebirth so far. Reading jl book now haven't hit the omni yet and can't afford all the rebirth dlx editions so my order is screwed up I guess. Hi omnidog. Nice resume about the comics that you need to read before rebirth saga. I didn't read any flash comics after rebirth and I understand pretty well the Buttom HC. You need to read only the DC Rebirth Special and Flashpoint. You don't need to wait 6 months to read. You can read it right now. No spoilers during the read. Greetings from Brazil.

Hey Jess, i recommend Batman Rebirth as well, by Dan Jurgens. The books prior to Rebirth are ok, but rebirth goes in the right direction. My theory was that Jurgens was on damage control after Future's End story. I don't think rebirth requires pre-knowledge.

I’ve been going back through you vids and love them. I have a question hope it’s not to late.haha. I know I need to read watchmen and dr Manhattan and flashpoint and I’m pretty sure I heard you say all the main characters of new 52 but I was curious do I need to read justice league, batgirl, teen titans/titans, the robin stuff and batwoman or anything else?

LG right after and the final days of Superman leads right into the rebirth special and even has Superman rebirth 1 in the trade or hardcover. All you need to know story wise going into the final days trade is Superman has discovered he is dying

I’m back again asking another question , these comics you said that we need an understanding of for rebirth , do we need to understand them for every rebirth comic , and do you have to read all the rebirth comics of all the different characters to have a complete storyline?

No i think you’re fine if you read The Final Days of Superman and Superman: Lois and Clark for Superman Rebirth. All the other books can be read on their own. The Watchman angle never really played out like i thought it would so you’re fine reading all Rebirth titles on their own. Reading the two pre Rebirth Superman stories will help with Superwoman if you decide to read that.

@@OmnidogsVault and my last question is the order you read them in . Do you kind of jump back and forth from other books or do u just go “aqua man rebirth #1 then #2” instead of “aqua man rebirth #1 then say Harley Quinn rebirth #1” and finally , does the # sign stand for books alone or chapters

@@cdool2223 you would read them as a series and then move on to the next book. They’re not connected in any way. # stands for book number so Superman #1 would be the first collected edition. 😊

I think those are Hoopla books. That’s a good idea for a show!! “DC Rebirth: Buy or Hoopla?” Although technically Aquaman by DeConnick is DC Universe. Hmmm. I’ll give you credit if i make that video!!!

if you're talking about The Final Days of Superman, it explains the death of New 52 Superman and is a very well written book. It also shows Rebirth Superman lurking IIRC. But you really need to read Jurgen's Lois and Clark to lead into Superman Rebirth- it helps it make a lot more sense.

@@cdool2223 they are all in the same time line mostly. Harley is a continuation of her N52 run and WW gets a new story that fits her in with this timeline. All the major heroes fall into this timeline and there are some new books that are worth checking out that I think I mentioned in the video like Green Lanterns and Green Lantern Corps. They are all the same timeline until Metal and WW and JLD are where that story will change the comics most. But that doesn't happen for a while and Taylor and I have a Metal reading order once you get there if you're interested
