do you think it's possible the sage could've attempted merging human and dragon together already by merging with xbalanque himself? and that's why xbalanque was able to defeat the pyro sovereign, obtain the sacred flame, and ascend to become the first pyro archon. i've alway found it suspicious that xbalanque was the one who commented on neuvillette's drip marketing that "someday, when they return, their true ordeal shall begin". i feel like him potentially having knowledge of the sovereigns reincarnating hints that he knew more than any human should have.

The topic of "evolution" has been brought up before. We have evolution by merging with abyssal power, evolution by merging of identity and consciousness, and now we have evolution by merging species and bloodlines. Not sure I'd call the last one "profane", compare to evolution by abyssal powers. The biggest reason the Sage would keep his plan secret is probably because the likelihood of HP to intervene if Celestia learns about dragons attempting to assimilate into human bloodline and creating a hybrid of sort. I doubt average Natlan fighter who could, at any time, lose their lives and the lives of their loved one would object merging with their saurian partner, as long as this plan isn't another Human Instrumentality Project that forcefully turn individuals into human-dragon hybrids. Or maybe if that's really what the sage has been planning, then this is gonna feel like deja vu of Narzissencreuz. Lastly, a fun quote from another rereading of Obsidian Codex: "Or perhaps his long-considered plan would crumble should the *everlasting flame reconnect with the roots of the earth*." This gotta be a reference to the potential burning of Irminsul. Dottore would be very exicited.

@cragsАй бұрын
Arlecchino's eyes are pretty simple actually, you just need to overlay them with the other established eyes of Khaenri'ahns, and boom, you get the 8 pointed Star seen on Khaenri'ahn clothing, it's the 2 different dynasties. Neuvillette in general made me suspicious of many pre-existing characters, not only in his unique pupils but also his ears. Like, whats up with elf ears in Genshin? WARNING!!! This got really long and tangent-y!!! I have been thinking about some of these things for a long time but only now have they become extremely relevant and also have more evidence to support it. Feel free to make your own conclusions it's just a lot of overlapping ideas that I don't see talked about. - - - Characters with animal-like features such as ears or horns have been likened to Liyue's Illuminated Beasts a couple of times. But a lot of them are probably more akin to Ganyu or especially Yanfei, Diona or Tighnari come to mind. Inazuma seems to be a bit more like Liyue with the Yokai, off the top of my head the only exception I can think of is Gorou and maybe Kujo Sara? Anyways my point is is that most (key word is most, I'm looking at you Ei) "non-human" characters get somewhat of an explanation, accept for one group of characters, the ones with elf ears. The overarching idea here is that the "non-human" looking characters are descendants of Illuminated Beasts who took humanoid shape and mated with humans, and the same idea is being established in Natlan with Dragons. There are a surprising amount of myths about this exact thing, and it's now starting to be explicit within Genshin's narrative wich is uh... okay I guess I didn't think they would actually talk about this but this is just what's happening now. Klee is stated to be from a "race with long longevity" but we've never been told much about this despite how many characters share this trait, nor have we been given a name for said race. With 2 of these characters being a part of Natlan's main story quest I can't help but wonder if this has anything to deal with dragons. Especially with the emphasis put on Chasca and her backstory, a lot of it seems very suspicious. Iansan was also the first Natlan character we were introduced to. One of the other first things we learned about Natlan was about Venessa and the people of Murata, putting a huge emphasis on characters with bright red hair since they were exiled and most likely spread out into different places, unlike pure blooded Kaenri'ahns who mostly stayed in one place. Maybe this also happened with the "elves." Also Nahida has elf ears AND unique pupils (although could just be a design choice not lore like Hu Tao) but I think that maybe there's a possibility that the "avatar of Irminsil" has more ties to actual land of Teyvat than we thought. Nahida shares traits both associated with dragons (ie Neuvilette's pointed ears) and the Heavenly Pricipals (expy of Theresa who is a clone of a Kaslana. I don't want to get into why Kaslana traits have links to the Heavenly Pricipals since this is about Genshin but its more about the link to the Sustainer of Heavinly principals who looks like Kiana and a heavy emphasis on the moon being linked to the white /silver hair especially. So just look at the physical appearance and don't worry about lore.) What this incredibly long tangent is getting to is that I think half dragon people are actually spread around everywhere, possibly as a form of survival or something, and I'm sure there's something to be said about Seeles too, having horns and all and also having pale skin and hair and ties to the moon sisters and ugh there's just too much.

very interesting idea!! now that i read this, i always found it weird/interesting that the Alberichs don't have any (seemingly) elf traits despite their name meaning "king of the elves" plus, not to mention their ties to faeries and by extension--- seelies. (alberich became oberon over time, who's the king of the faeries in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream") if elves could be half dragon people then where does that leave pureblood khaenri'ahns? it's so weird how we keep getting characters in genshin with elf ears but there's just no explanation for it.... hopefully we get more answers with chasca.

Also just remembered that this idea even extends a bit to Honkai Star Rail with Dan Heng and his "Imbibitor Lunae" design, although I don't know much about Star Rail so it's a purely physical observation. Ofc the one character this idea does not apply to is Zhongli, further adding credence to the idea that he is purely some kind of Adeptus and isn't lying about that or anything, although that one form of his is suspiciously hooded, and he is able to change forms as we know but who knows what's going on with that guy. Elf ears and "dragon" just seems to be a running idea with Hoyo.

One of the theories I've been thinking about lately is one that suggests Paimon is the manifestation of Traveler's lost power, and that Traveler will have to fuse with her to regain their power. Even if she isn't, it's still possible that this will be necessary later on. So then your idea that Bean (my little guy) and Traveler will become one in order for Traveler to gain Pyro is very fitting. I also think that the theme of "two becoming one" and "one becoming two" is very common in the game. There's a theory of sorts that brings up how every time there is a pair, usually only one remains, and that this applies to the twins because one will die or disappear by the end of the story. I propose another idea based on your theory: that Traveler and their twin are two halves of a whole. Instead of only one remaining, two would unify and become one. This could also tie into the theory that Traveler is the Primordial One. In order to regain their power or take the role they were always meant to be in, they will have to reunite with their other half. Sorry for the conflicting theories lol. I have so many ideas for how Genshin will end and I'm honestly just trying to find any possible ending that won't involve Traveler, their twin, or Paimon dying or being left behind or anything like that. I'm hitting the copium lol.

One thing I am the most interest/confused about is how future patches will expand the lore of the Pyro dragon and Xbalanque's story, specifically because the namecards in the reputation system for Natlan seem to foreshadow it is much more complicated than "Good human teams up with good dragon to beat up bad dragon" as they both respectively state: (This is all aready in the game) "Natlan: Divine Army - ...Bathed by a hidden sun, Xbalanque's forces advance with unstoppable momentum, He brings all-out war to the world once more, but his goals don't stop there..." - This namecard shows Xbalanque commanding an army under the sun that is in front of him "Natlan: Fiery Dragon - ...Sharer of light, heat, and wisdom, the dragon king awaits the coming visitor in silence beneath returning moonlight. His reawakening is not simply for..." - This one shows the red dragon from the mural patiently waiting for something under seemingly the same sun Edit, thanks to @spieds9994 for mentioning it in their comment The Hanan Pacha scroll directly mentions that: "In some versions of the story, it is said he was none other than Xiuhcoatl himself, but the gods only know what kind of storyteller would make such a mistake. After all, who could forget that the one who defeated Xiuhcoatl was the very first Pyro Archon, Xbalanque himself. How could things have been resolved at a point so early in the story?" Now I don't know about everyone but that version of the legend going around that it was the Pyro Dragon who granted people the use of fire, combined with the description of the name card that seems to depict him, makes me think that, as Simulanka foreshadowed, there are many versions of this story and all of them are true, but in different contexts? What if the original sharer was indeed the Pyro Dragon, but then the Sage wanted to enact his evolution, so they in turn stole the flame somehow and convinced people to turn on the Pyro Dragon and see them as evil, and the wars resulting from him giving the flame to people at large after getting rid of the Sovereign was also a plan of the Evolution? This is just my crackhead theory tbh, but having knowledge form Simulanka, the name cards, and multiple versions of the legend, I am fully expecting the full story to be very heavily perspective biased just as the story of the Simulanka tribes, making it possible for the ancient dragons in this situation being both good and bad at the same time, depending on the perspective and teller

Wait- Now that i think about it, Pacal says that the ones that embarked on the journey to free their saurian companions of the mark never made it back.... but Ngoubou's description makes it seem like he came back indeed- although with no happy ending. But what about the human? if no human made it back- does this mean that the ritual is for the dragon to absorb the human? and no human came back because they were absorbed? Obviously it can't happen to us, but what if we end up absorbing our little companion- i don't want thattttt

I find it quite interesting that Phlogiston seems to be either fully or just a part of Primal Fire, according to Obsidian codex: "The wisest among dragons traversed the burning plains, carrying the seed split from the primal fire, stepping into a rugged, untamed land." It kinda makes Natlanese people (Yes, that's officially how they're called in the traveler voice-vers) kinda similar to Fontainians, except the primal element is not directly inside them Also, we can almost directly confirm that Pyro Sovereign was Xiuhcoatl thanks to Hanan Pacha book (scroll??): "In some versions of the story, it is said he was none other than Xiuhcoatl himself, but the gods only know what kind of storyteller would make such a mistake. After all, who could forget that the one who defeated Xiuhcoatl was the very first Pyro Archon, Xbalanque himself. How could things have been resolved at a point so early in the story?"

There must always be a Sovereign of each element. The mark of the Flame Lord could be a sign that one has the potential to ascend to Pyro Sovereign, the reason why most sarians with this mark perish is because their bodies are not able to handle the power. Every Sovereign comes from dragon descendents but not all dragon descentent can ascend into Sovereign. I don't know I'm just spit balling here. Maybe we might get the Neuvillette Treatment here, maybe Capitano could be the next Pyro Sovereign. We haven't seen his eyes and his face, it would explain his long life span. I mused about this a couple of days ago myself. Mine came more from the direction of the Night Kingdom and its replacement of the Irminsul/leylines The profane path of "evolution" essentially aims to create a new species of humans, dragon-humans. Notice how the existence of Sovereigns, dragonkind and explicit history that was banned in Before Sun and Moon is common knowledge in Natlan. This led me to think that Natlan is not bound to the rules of Celestia and current Celestia does not have much control over Natlan as it has been severed from the Irminsul through their lack of leylines. Celestia cannot punish them for creating a new type of human species. In the sands of the Obsidian Codex, the Sage knew "his long-considered plan would crumble should the everlasting flame reconnect with the roots of the earth." To me this line proves that if the leylines in Natlan were to be restored, Celestia (or some entity that could completely uproot the status quo in Natlan) would destroy what he had created. Then, what exactly is the Night Kingdom, which can not only rival Celestia's will by replacing their ley lines, but also incur no wrath from Celestia itself despite going against what Celestia would want? "Perhaps it was that the gods of the night realm ruled over the underworld, for they were great foes of the Sage in ancient days" How can the Wayob be enemies with the Sage in ancient days if they are clearly working together somewhat in ensuring Celestia has mediocre degrees of control over Natlan? The conclusion I've come to is that the Night Kingdom and Wayob are related to the original Primordial One, the one who showed endless love for humanity before shit hit the fan after the Second Who Came. PO is the only person who Celestia CANNOT simply remove from the equation. This plan for "Evolution" creating a new type of human species that can rival Fate itself is taboo according to Celestia. Yet unlike Fontaine, nothing has been done against the instigator. This must be someone who can rival Celestia, incur none of their wrath, and equally grant permission to alter or create humanity for future benefit. Someone who was around during the ancient age of Dragons, who knew dragons took humans under their wing, who can entirely replace the Irminsul system on their own (so only the PO and the 2nd Descender actually). Someone who can bend the rules of Archonhood, allowing HUMANS to ascend. Who else could hold so much power over even Celestia other than the PO? The one who loved HUMANS the most? Yeah, super crack. Wayob are possibly fragments of the PO or just related to them in some way and I'll die on this hill. The way the Wayob spoke so gently to Kachina, that they were proud of her no matter what. It felt like a creator speaking to their creation. Or a mother to their child.
@kotarouinugami1745Ай бұрын
My idea, is that the Night Kingdom is a personal realm of the Shade of Death, who may be called Ronova. As for why Wayob spoke gently to Kachina, it is because it is a hivemind of all her ancestors. It has all their love and wisdom. Yes, I know - so many people throughout history of Teyvat tried to make a hivemind, and failed. Yet the Wayob are real, somewhat sane, and occasionally even helpful. Which, in my mind, gives weight to the idea that a greater power, like a Shade or a Descender, is behind it.
@foxfoxfox6799Ай бұрын
@@kotarouinugami1745 isn’t Ronova the heavenly envoy who spoke with Xbalanque to bend the rules of Archonhood? Where was it stated it is the Shade of Death? I mean, if that’s true then it just adds to the theory more. I also like the idea that the Night Kingdom is under the Shade of Death. That is quite possible from how it is so intricately linked to death.
@kotarouinugami1745Ай бұрын
@@foxfoxfox6799 Yes, the name Ronova is mentioned only once - she is a mysterious higher power that helped Xbalanque establish the rules of Natlan. The way she was mentioned resembles the way Raiden speaks of Istaroth, which is why I think they are of the same caliber. And since the rules seem to concern death a lot, I think it is likely that she is the shade of death. Of course, this assumes that Four Shades and their master indeed match the five categories of artifacts, which is also just a hypothesis.

The durin plot line is tied into this I can FEEL IT (but not articulate other than like maybe the “merging of bloodlines” and his possible resurrection and playable status? Like make him half dragon half man or smth so he’s vaguely humanoid for playability?
@bookswithike3256Ай бұрын
This was my first thought too. The Between Pledge and Forgettance world quest talks about a person being born from a dragon's heart. Durin as a playable character is absolutely going to come out of his heart in Dragonspine.
@rinzukodas79Ай бұрын
it's true, enjou IS a relatable queen. also i hope they make him playable E: also, "instrumentality to avoid the abyss" *would* track with most of the world and story quests we've dealt with thus far E2: Khaenri'ah loosely means something like "traitor of winds" right? mayhaps that's a point of connection worth considering in relation to the Ring Cycle's premise, seeing as Istaroth seems to have disappeared from history

Your theory isnt too farfetched actually. 1 - Traveler, the chosen of the dragons, can indwell saurians. Traveler basically merges with the saurians and impose their own will onto them(a descender's will?). But we already know of the will of the traveler, but how are they able to merge in the first place? unless its an ability of the traveler to merge with life forms(which we have never seen before..we have seen traveler being able to transfer consciousness or tap into divine consciousness of nearby entities like Sorush, etc but I dont remember traveler losing their body and merging with someone) OR saurians were made to be able to do that. The end goal was probably always for saurians and their human companions to merge in one. 2- If i was the dragon king, opposed to the celestial gods, the only human populace that i would ally myself with would be Khaenriah. So yes i firmly believe it is connected. Not to mention, Gold is fishy. She apparently ran off after finding Heart of Naberius...what is it? is it an actual heart/power source? What needs that kind of powersource? A dragon dead body? Not to mention her creations are draconic in nature, Durin, Elynas and Golden wolflord all have draconic features...as if she is trying to create the perfect dragon body with a powersource(heart of naberius) for a certain dragon that needs it(maybe Nibelung) because his current body is corrupted by Abyss(nibelung used abyssal power to combat celestia). 3- If the era of dragons was over, the only way for the dragons to survive, would be to turn into some lesser form. Vishaps are not dragons, but given enough time, they have the potential to grow into one, i think its something like diluted bloodline sort of thing. Dragon vs Primordial one was a battle between rulers of dragons vs rulers of celestia. There must have been innocent dragon populace who would have suffered in the midst. What if saurians came about because the dragons chose to shed their "dragonhood" and in exchange humans and the new devolved saurians would form a pact of peace. But while it doesnt seem like Waxaklum Uba Kan is evil, what if he intends to gain the dragons glory back, by merging both as Roozevelt said..to attain some sort of higher power..and this threat will endanger natlan perhaps as soon as abyss issue is sorted?

Well, to me. Nobody has the capability of battling Fate as long as you are in its standards. The Sage is really looking forward to transcend human into evolution to ensure that it can twist the Fate of unending cycle. There are two things that I can match your theory: -- If transcendence is to be Human-Dragon being, then that means we're no longer bounded by the Fate of this world. This would create another sin, that Celestia would not turn a blind eye. Celestia park on Teyvat to change the turf of this dragon era into something better under the same rule. Even Xbalanque did some sacrifice just to create a rule on which the new civilization would benefit. IF this theory would happen, I no longer doubt why you don't have to trust the sage -- it's a bigger problem. -- If transcendence is to become one with the dragons [As you're already "Chosen of the Dragons"], then this has something to do with a new rule. I can sense that Saurians will definitely stay, but the curse that our Tepetlisaurus will be transferred to US, Travelers. Making our end getting the power of divinity/archon. If that's the case, then we can create a new rule for Natlan. The suspended nail in Night Kingdom will be fallen to it making the Abyss unable to infiltrate to it, successfully making the Leyline- like area beneficial for the nation. Thus, making the impending destruction to be avoided. Wayob's are happy, and peace will come all at once in Natlan. This PLAN is very memorable to all MCs as we will now have a chance to secure the Gnosis for once in our entire journey, another nation to save. A Super Saiyan 3 Traveler. -- This would really force the Fatui to avoid Natlan. Even Capitano would think twice fighting Traveler infused with Pyro-Archon power and Mavuika the Pyro Archon-entitled entity with lossless primal fire. What do you think, @roozeveltfox ?
@roozeveltfoxАй бұрын
hmm yeah I'd agree and I like these ideas! I'm just personally unsure if they would go with something as big as Traveller getting new powers or Natlan's new rules since it's a world quest, and even the big lore WQs are only mentioned in the main storyline at best... but they could always change that. I also have to have more thonks about Xbalanque and the gnosis etc. but really interesting lines of thought!!

Didn't we fight Klingsor at the end of the Pari quest and he was a Hydro Herald, not a Baptist? Genshin's talk about vertical pupils is confusing because of one thing. Chongyun. Other than Baizhu, who traded his eyes with a snake, Chongyun is the only playable character who has slit vertical pupils. Is Chongyun supposed to be read as a vishap person? I don't think so. (Although... maybe that would explain his constitution in a way? Dragons and their descendants seem to be fairly volatile in temperament. Hmmm). But maybe his pupils are just... not vertical enough? In which case, when do pupils become vertical enough to be reptilian? Or maybe the writers hadn't shared this idea with the art team before Chongyun was designed?
@roozeveltfoxАй бұрын
dang you're right about Klingsor. I shoulda double checked (I just assume I know that WQ by heart lmao). Still applies to the baptist though - and there's also maybe thematic crossover with Narzissenkreuz there since Jakob took that form I don't know how to reconcile Chongyun but my thinking is along the lines of what you say. That either it has something to do with an 'adeptal gift' OR there's something specific/different about snake eyes. E.g. - Tsumi (or her mask) has gold eyes with a very prominent snake pupil. They actually look most like Baizhu's... and from his cutscene those were original Changsheng's. So maybe snake eyes are specifically gold? And maybe this also feeds into Chongyun because Chagensheng's eye switch is from an adeptal contract, so maybe Chongyun just has the "snake-lite" version. or maybe it was early design error and this is just crack!

The idea about evolution is really double sided like a coin, Rene said only with evolutions and merging all Will of Fontaine people can surpass of fate. What if the Sage tryin to combine The will of Human and a dragon to combat those of Abyys. the song of Natlan about resurrection is like combining everyone into one will to resurrect those who died in the night trial. Just like our mc traveling to tevyat witnessing everything and remembering everything, because he's a vessel to those will ( evolution to combat erosion/ abyysal will ). About the Eye, if you were correctly that only through evolution even dragon can become human, and khaenriah having star shaped eyes is it because they dwells in the border between the abyys and tevyat for far too long or they were the descendants of those survivors from 2nd war? Nibelung and evolve so they can harness the power of the abyys. From the Mural we only saw one within the irminsul is Save while the one outside irminsul perish, what if those who perish is khaenriahn ancestral. We never saw People from tevyat having star shaped eyes tho, only those who stayed in khaenriah have those eyes ( pure blooded or half )
