RIP Tony and Rory. Today saw the passing away of Tony McPhee, another amazing guitarist, a mainstay of the music I enjoyed growing up in the 70's. Thank you, Tony, you are a legend.

I don't think Tony cared about the trappings of fame or "rock stardom" but if any guitarist was deserving of greater notoriety it was him. Same with Rory although to an extent he was much better known and appreciated.

How sad, a great sweet man with great talent. I really feel for his family and mates and of course the fans.

I had the good fortune to see each of these guys perform, albeit separately. Great memories. I also visited Rory’s hometown, Cork, and the beautiful little music library they built there in his honor. And I cried.

I don’t know why or how it took so long for me to come across this 😮 I’m sure I went to a gig in Aylesbury when Rory and the Groundhogs performed together - loudest gig I’ve been to!

Kindred spirits who never strayed from their respective paths. Seen both of them at various times and treasure the memories. No one can play like these guys. Rory is badly missed so I hope Tony can manage his health problems. Fantastic book about Tony called "Eccentric Man" by Paul Freestone. Two genuine Guitar Legends!

Roger Ludwig What I love Rodger is that they weren't slaves to the promo machine and so had carte blanche On what they produced

Tony McPhee often used to join Rory on stage at Ipswich as he lived close by. Back in late 70's and early 80's. Great times with great artists!
