I’m gonna be honest. I worked today and after work my 8 year old asked me to play checkers with him. I told him “not now” and I chose to clean the bathroom. 1) because I was putting it off for days and 2) I seriously needed to decompress and that’s how I decompress. He’s watching a movie with his big sis right now, so I’ll probably play checkers with him later. It’s all about balance and sometimes the choices you make are to stay sane.
@PoohBear923 ай бұрын
Yes exactly! Sometimes the dirty bathroom I’ve been putting off stresses me out, other times it’s putting off playing and enjoying time with my kids that makes me feel guilty. Today I had a huge headache and my oldest asked me to play with her and I had told her no earlier so I told her yes the second time and we had some good laughs that by the end of it my headache was gone! ☺️

The hardest part of motherhood is realizing that the standards that you set for yourself before you had your child were unrealistically high, but even harder than that is actually lowering your standards.

It feels dangerous to me. Like my extended family has very high standards and the neighbors don't know your life either so if someone sees some mess they think is unreasonable they could make a "call" or best case scenario spread rumors. I feel like I have to keep up appearances for the safety of my ramily.

I keep telling myself one day I'll miss the toys everywhere and when the toy shelves come down, I'm going to be really sad. Also, to the new moms, those jerks who say you'll spoil the baby if you hold it too much don't know anything. There will come a time when your tiny snuggly baby won't fall asleep in your arms again, and that will be over. Hold on to that and hold your baby as much as you want.
@catiemyers34293 ай бұрын
I held my baby non-stop for months. I couldn't put her down. I was addicted to holding her, staring at her, and being her mom. Screw the dishes. She's 9 now and is doing just fine.
@laurenyost15263 ай бұрын
I have four kids, 7 and under. I totally feel this. Different seasons call for different priorities. Do what makes you feel good. If putting the baby down for a bit and cleaning the baseboards gives you a dopamine hit that makes you feel good because you just need to feel like you accomplished something, beginning to end, today, then DO IT! But if you're cleaning out of guilt or shame, work on letting it go. Clean because it brings you peace and makes your life easier. Not because you're worried about what other people think.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. I'm a mom of two-my youngest is 6 months old, and my oldest just turned three. As a new mom, I've really struggled with balancing everything-home, kids, school, and marriage. Your videos have been such a big help in reminding me to be gentler on myself and not let mom guilt take over. They’ve helped me prioritize what really matters and not stress about being perfect. I really appreciate what you do!

Rosa, again with the wisdom and wonderful advice! How easy it is to become overwhelmed when you're in the trenches of motherhood. But this is such a necessary reminder. No one can do it all in a day and everyone's home looks lived in sometimes because *surprise* people live there! Adding that routine can be life changing and is something that is made to serve us not the other way around. Thank you thank you thank you. You are such a breath of fresh air.

Ok, hear me out. You are a Disney princess in real life. Your energy, your joy, your beauty… combine that with your relatability and humility, I’m so happy I found you. I feel so reassured in my own daily housekeeping battles. I have two teenagers, so I’m in an advanced stage of motherhood. BUT, unfortunately, my husband has stage IV colon cancer. While he is thriving, it still comes with plenty of struggles. Many, internally with me beating myself up, believing I’m not doing good enough at keeping my home clean and taking care of everyone. Your videos recenter me. Thank you, truly. It’s so deeply therapeutic. ❤️

Comments like this really help remind me of what matters when posting these videos. I’m so sorry to hear about your husbands it must be so scary for your family, and putting a lot of weight on you. Stay reassured, you are doing exactly what your family needs: loving them. And that can look like a home cooked meal AND a frozen pizza. Thank you so much for your kind words, here’s to your husband kicking the BUTT out of butt cancer. ❤

It was absolutely not a waste of time. You look ah-dorable. It's so true that the early years feel like just survivor mode. And that's ok! The days are long, the years are short, yada yada. I'll prioritize loving and teaching my kiddos and quality time with hubby over cleaning perfection. I obviously am always interested in improving how I manage my home, but we can't always wallow in guilt that we didn't get it all done. Been there, done that, wouldn't recommend.

Some of these videos are giving salty vibes all of a sudden. Negative comments about trad wives, even sourdough, why the hate? I thought we just stay in our lane and say to each their own. Whatever works for you and your family. I loved the neutrality, the real mom vibe that more people can actually relate to. Now you can’t come for positivity, inspiration and motivation without a random put down.
