I have a pair of these in black leather that I've owned since 2017. They've held up very well, the soles are wearing very nicely. They are extremely comfortable and are my daily shoe for the most part. As someone else mentioned, mine squeak audibly, but I think it's just a factor of the heal being nailed on. I have owned TB Scout whole grain, in whiskey, for over 3 years now and am very pleased with comfort and wearability. In 2018 wore them daily walking around Europe in winter. Recently replaced the heel block with real Dainite at low cost and the cobbler remarked the boots had worn well. I am pleased with style and fit. They look great with whiskers laces or colored laces coordinated with outfit. Thanks for doing the review, I always enjoy your videos. The graph you used is called a “radar diagram” in business.

I have 5 pair of Thursday’s and they’ve all been perfect. I wear them daily and a business casual environment but walking quite a bit. Walking of roofs and in yards and in town. Compared to a boot from places like JCPenny and Macy’s and shit like that, these are amazing. For $150-200 they’re unbeatable. Thursday keep doing what you do.

I had these boots, but had to return them after a week for two major reasons: 1. they are *VERY, VERY* narrow. Painfully so. 2. the rubber 'studs' in the sole poke up into the shoe every step you take, which also is painful when it's hitting the part of the foot right before the big toe.

I've had a pair of the scouts in the full grain Thursday chrome leather for over a year now. I wear it with a suit for work. It was so comfortable from the beginning with no issues with the sole. The only issue is the top layer (chrome?) Of the leather is pealing away in hard rub areas to where it's exposing raw leather underneath. Thursday were great and sent me a free pair of their executives.

I have mainly owned chukkas, I have no major complains about them just that they can be a tad bit more comfortable. I do wear them for long periods of time in the day. The dang thing is my forever everyday shoe. I still love true boots, but my feet can't deal with them much anymore these days since I've gone minimal zero-drop etc (8+ years now).... and the Gobi is the one shoe/boot I'd keep out of all, past or present. Cheers.

Another great video, Weston. Thanks as always. When I first got into the heritage/GYW/high quality/rebuildable boot world around 2017 I think, Thursday Boots was my introduction. I had no idea what to look for or what was quality, all I knew was that Thursday Boots had a relatively low entry point, they were already well regarded though still not as well known, and I was getting goodyear welt construction. So I dove in with my first purchase - the Scout chukka in Brown CXL (not Thursday Chrome as they've since switched to). Then I purchased the Cavalier chelsea in Brown chrome tan second followed by the Captain in Arizona Adobe as my third Thursday Boot. I took a real liking to the heritage boot scene, obviously, so I dove in to learn what I could. And since then, I've donated the Scout chukkas, relegated the Captains for use when doing any shit task that comes up, the Cavaliers are collecting dust in my closet, and there's no chance i'll touch another Thursday Boot. Too many compromises in quality and construction compared to other options that admittedly will cost a little more but you do get a lot more for that relatively little difference. With the Scout chukkas, the grain break and creasing on the left boot was awful - just awful - while the right boot was picture perfect. Called Thursday Boots about it and got the proverbial shoulder shrug from them. The Cavaliers looked good but the right boot squeaks to the point of driving my near crazy when walking. The Arizona Adobe Captains, well they were straight up the wrong color. There was no Arizona and no Adobe about those boots. And they were already the replacement pair since I had to send the first pair back - no longer remember what was wrong with them though. 3 different boot models and a different problem with each. No thanks. And hey, maybe I just had bad luck with my purchases - 3 separate times. I'm almost positive that Nick from Stridewise has a Thursday Boots tattoo over his heart. He has apparently found his one true boot love. But things are what they are and the three boots I purchased were all disappointing.
@fataheyable3 жыл бұрын
Am starting my journey into quality boots . Was wondering what the other options are you went with that cost lil bit more than Thursdays
@UTubeandChill3 жыл бұрын
@@fataheyable Hi, without any hesitation, if I were starting down the road of high quality boots all over again but knowing what I know now, I would start with Parkhurst first and Grant Stone second and I would not look back. Yes, you will spend around 50% more than you would with Thursday Boots, but you will get the additional value, you will get a much better boot, and you will be starting off in a much better place. If you're going to start something you might be unfamiliar with, starting it off from a solid foundation is the best way to help ensure you don't end up with regret down the road (like I did with my three Thursday purchases) or having eat the cost of early bad purchases (again like I did). Parkhurst was not founded until 2018 I think in all fairness though. Best of luck to you and enjoy the journey! There are some truly stellar and beautiful boots out there. It can get a little overwhelming but there are also a lot of resources to help you learn about all the ins and outs of this level of footwear. There are also multiple communities that you can join full of people with a passion heritage footwear who will be happy share their knowledge.

I own a pair of the Tobacco Scout Nubuck. It’s a very well made boot. I wear them at work all the time handsome and comfortable the latter is essential as my job has me standing for 8-9 hours on end on tile and concrete without need of steel toes. The Sole is a fairly dense crepe rubber wedge which though perhaps not as soft as some wedges is I think fairly easily on the back.

Squeak! I've had a pair of Thursday chukkas in snuff suede for four years. I love the aesthetic and the suede, which is pretty close to waterproof. The soles and toes are surprisingly stiff and heavily built. I was expecting a light, floppy desert-boot type; but these are classically built boots with a floppy suede upper. However I only wear them occasionally for one main reason: the left one SQUEAKS so loudly other people notice, and I can hear and feel it through my foot! Over the years I've added and removed insoles, powder, oil, you name it, but nothing has stopped the squeak. I really hope Thursday fixes this problem--apparently it would only take a piece of fabric over the shank...

You make a very fair assessment of these. I've owned a smooth-leather pair for several years and they've held up well, certainly for the price. That said, I have wide feet and they definitely will pinch your toes. Also over time the area under the ball of the foot will compress and make them a boot you don't want to wear all day. A few hours though is fine. Based on another one of your videos I have a pair of Jim Greens on order because of the wider toe box.

I like the look of the distressed suede and see it as a very viable solution for people who don't want to spend lot of time maintaining their shoes. Now, this leather is not great quality, so I wonder how long the uppers will last for someone who wears them a lot in rain, snow or sleet, and especially, what is likely to happen if they get salt on them. That said, for $150 it looks like a decent value. Not necessarily for me, but I might recommend it to others.
@Thursdayboots3 жыл бұрын
Hey Martin! The leather is still really great quality so the uppers are going to last. In general, you don't want to overexpose any leather to heavy rain, snow, or sleet in order to keep them looking their best. That being said, if you happen to run into moderate weather conditions you will not need to worry. When it comes to salt, we recommend wiping down your boots with a damp rag right away to prevent staining but again, this is advice for all-leather shoes and boots.
