I dig in old dumps for antique bottles. The only things u can count on finding from over 100 years ago is THICK metal stuff (axe heads, cars etc) glass stuff and…..leather shoes. I’ve dug some boots that looked like u could throw a sole on them oil them up and wear them. The sole was completely gone but the leather upper was 👍🏿👍🏿

Have you brannocked your foot? If so, then you should be good. I brannocked my foot, got a half size down for a roomier fit on redwings (which customer service said fits almost the same), and it's been amazing. I could even go another half size down (full size down from brannock), and be good. But I'm hoping I did the same too xD I went full size down since the last is an anatomically correct last, and don't want my foot sliding down. I also don't want to have to tie my boots super tight to prevent that.

@Why_ItАй бұрын
These are the first pair of boots that I immediately clicked the link to buy but had to hold myself back. The leather and styling is beautiful. But I honestly can't bring myself to pay a premium for a 10-inch boot. My calves are built and will definitely be constricted with the height. If I suffered from LADS I'd have a harder time resisting. But if this was in a form factor that encouraged everyday wear (not saying sneakers, but also NOT not saying sneakers), actually showing my life style, then I think it'd be perfect. White's lifestyle Perry and Millwood 6" boots are kind of the perfect vibe I'd look for in this material. That's just my opinion, but a 10-incher feels like a commitment of style over my comfort. But how they are now, I think it's gorgeous for most outfits. I could see these as the new hipster theater-kid cliche. Doc Martin's were iconic for the yellow stitching, but the blood-core is like a classy-brutal vibe.

I love leather but genuinely i do want more ethical leather because a lot of faux leather is also very carbon heavy same as the mass farming for leather and i do hope that moving onwards leather is more ethical similar to the jim green boots. As much as i love leather i think a mixed lining like a thick linen and hemp twill on the toe area and leather can be really great since in history it was mainstream for a while, and was really good. This is just a preference for any shoe which i think should bring back and its not really related to this lol. This looks awesome i love the red, also the cutting hurt my heart cuz uve already broken it in omg.

@klausbecker4745Ай бұрын
2:39 what do you mean by "strong"? like you say the grain is tighter and holds everything together. so its actually the stronger part. if you split a leather down the middle and make one boot from the flesh and one from the grain side, the latter will most definitely last longer. the reason why a roughout boot is durable is that the flesh side "absorbes" the cuts and scratches while the stronger grain side is not damaged and thus stays strong

Problem is that 1) they are not waterproof as they claimed 2) they are hurting my feet a lot 3) they feel unconfortable even after 2 weeks of conditioning. Now im sad because i never spent so much into a pair of boots and never been so disappointed at same time. I enjoy quality boots as much as the next guy, but after experiencing from my novice collection starting with Redwing,( owned IR, moc toe, blacksmith), Nick's overlander, to eventually JK's OT boot(best boot ever) I came to realize eventually it's all about comfort. I no longer want to break in a hard leather midsole on top of a hard leather veg tan insole. JK's OT's boots are hands down the most versatile most comfortable boots I've ever owned. Hopefully they've patented their OT model.
@gur262Ай бұрын
Hmmm. I wonder if that could be solved factoring in a thick Inlay sole( second language sorry) the one you may take out and swap, in construction and shifting the job of cushioning to that. In my experience with normal sneakers the cushioning wears out eventually so if that was swappable with widely available bits or at least the boot came with 3 pairs n you get 3 more for 50 bucks, each lasting about as long as a running shoe, that could work?
@RogerLoeraАй бұрын
@@gur262 i get what you're saying, have a removable thick insole whether it's leather or another material. That could help but ultimately it's, for me personally, is the constant kneeling down and bending my boot at the ball area that makes a world difference making it more tolerable and comfortable. JK's lineman shank makes it possible to comfortably work for long hrs on your feet

Using leather in quality boots to make them last longer is also likely better for the environment because you would buy less boots, using up less produced materials, ultimately taking less from the environment overall.

underconsumption, taking care of what you already own, is better for the environment. It also teaches you to take care of your things, including the environment around you.
@namenloserfloАй бұрын
It depends on where the materials come from and what you want to achieve. If you want the best for the animal choose leather from a farm where the animals live in comparably humane conditions. If you want the best for the world climate choose the most efficient farm where the animals live in the worst conditions and get slaughtered as soon as possible. It's probably still better for the envirronment to use organic, plant based materials though...
@Jake-bt3fcАй бұрын
