I really like this boot. Dont own one though. But I would wear waterproof socks with it for sure. The advantage to this boot. It can dry out quickly. Keeping your feet dry. If they do get wet. Have an extra dry pair ready to go. They call it a hunter. But its really a trail moccasin. I would expect germans and austrians to like this boot. They like to go on long hikes. They dont walk slow. The older men dont like heavy boots on a volkswalk.

I was very glad to see those insoles that you offer - however I would absolutely LOVE to find insoles like those that came in a pair of Snipe-branded casual boots that were felt on one side and leather on the other - you could flip them over based on the outside temperature or just your preference. I picked those shoes up probably 15 years ago on a trip to Germany to visit relatives, they were made in Portugal. The style I have are no longer available but Snipe still has a German website that carries other models, including some barefoot styles.

Purchased a pair of Russell Moccasin Backcountry boots based on your previous video. They are in fact the most comfortable shoe or boot I’ve ever worn. It’s a shame the video does not have more views, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who became a RM customer based on watching it. Hat tip to RM, and to Rose Anvil for taking to the time to explain and demonstrate their quality.

Hi, I like your "bootbreaker". in fact, I have been using my own versions for years, you need to market them with the additional benefit they have, and that is the thermal insulation they add to the boot sole. I found that by accident, the best I found was a layer of closed cell foam in a very small cell formulation. The most easily found is thin yoga mat found at Goodwill or other second hand stores, your pre cut design is perfect, and that added thermal insulation makes a new hard insole boot incredibly better in cushioning the heel and ball the foot and helps comfort due to warmth added in the same points that bear the most weight. The leather you offer is really nice, old boots I have owned conform too well after years, transferring nails that were a little high right through to the foot, and that little hard point is an insideous discomfort, your "bootbreaker",is also a "boot life extender", Leather in the right thickness and flexibility/hardness, is a lot harder to come by and your product is a slip in and go with an option to add a foam for more comformability and warmth in an instant. Good luck, I'm going to look into ordering some of yours in both leather and foam, I'm always scavenging or buying a new foam material to try! If it is too soft it just moves around in your boot like a bad sock, but if stiff enough it stays in place and conforms to the foot quickly and adds warmth instantly. By the way, I use them in all types of shoe, not just boots!!

would love to see some winter stuff next. a lot of it is synthetic materials (which is fine considering that places use salt and gravel and such to deal with ice and snow), but I'd love to see what those vibram ice+ outsoles are made of, as well as some hiking boot companies offering "winter" rubber compounds. things like the merrell coldpack thermo moc high (hey some crossover!), as well as the moab thermo (ice+ vs plain rubber). similarly the keen revel/anchorage, salomon toundra, etc etc from the usual supsect hiking boot makers, and of course some baffin/sorel/kammik etc for the extreme winter category.

That Price vs Quality graph was backwards. If you’re saying that the quality growth outpaces the price, you should see a flatter curve in the beginning where the x-axis value is increasing faster than the y-axis. Or just swap the quality to the y-axis and the price to the x-axis and then the graph would fit as plotted . Not trying to be a pedantic tool, just trying to help out. Great video! Heartbreaking to see those cut.

This will get lost in the comments but it's worth a shot. More than a cutting video what would be awesome is a Brannock device education video. I just found out that going off larger arch length size vs foot length being a thing and I'm kind of mind blown. I've been wearing incorrect sizing forever and with the lots of brands I've been gravitating towards recommending to size down it's only worse. FWIW I found out when I went in and got sized and red wing.

I’d like to see luos jiet and how they compare to Thursday in the 200 category. Also a pair of Bordon and unmarked. Be interested to see how those two compare to their more expensive counterparts

You should do double H boots I been wearing them for years at work the Wooten style and it’s been a pretty good boot over all .

We all know Wes has a crispy pair of Russell’s in the box that he isn’t telling us about ;). I personally want to see a pair of Courteney boots cut in half next. They are the similarly priced and also handmade South African safari version of Russell’s and they come in some WILD game leathers.

I have a pair of Courteney Selous in Cape Buffalo. The most comfortable footwear I have, but the black rubber soles mark tiled floors mercilessly. Quite a bit cheaper than Russells at $330, and 360 stitch down construction.

@@ecbh1214 awesome! I don’t think Courteney had indoor floors in mind when creating an African hunting/safari shoe. Yes their base models are cheaper but they have a custom department which rivals Russel prices. I’d love to own a pair and I’d love to see them analyzed on this channel.

I have never heard or Russell Moccasins in Australia and they don't list a distributor or an outlet in Australia that I could find.

Please try cutting some Timberland Premium HELCOR 6 Inch boots in half. The helcor leather is scuff proof, fireproof, and waterproof so your knife won't even make a dent on the leather.
